Long nights of nothing but emptiness gnawing on her stomach was finally taking a toll on the poor young brunette. She hasn't eaten for three weeks and her front door was filled with packages of food her other 'friends' dropped by for her. She didn't even bother opening the door for them, just shrugged it off and went back to her little bubble.
Everybody knew why she was acting like this. Who could blame her to react this way when the only person who cared about her finally passed away leaving her with the property she isn't even willing to accept. Right now she was lying on her late bestfriend's bed. The bed she would come to when she felt like shit and when her demons were too powerful for her. It felt as if the only safe place in the world, but knowing Cornelia wouldn't be there anymore she doubted if this place was still safe for her.
She remembered waking up and finding out Cory Monteith died, yes the guy from Glee only to find out that Cornelia was on the couch possibly poking her eye out from crying.
She spent the rest of the day just watching Glee with Cornelia until she calmed down and has finally accepted the fact that he isn't coming back.
Who would've thought that Cornelia was joining her sunshine short after. She made a mental note to herself to rip off those stupid posters of the overrated show and repaint that side of the wall a nice colour. That is, if she could get to live in this place on her own accord.
~*~
The pale brunette was currently staring out the window trying to immaculately print a mental picture of Cornelia, the only person she considered as Family. If she was really gone forever then she would have to memorize her features so that she could never forget the once lively motherly figure she's grown up for years.
Her little session was interrupted when there was a buzz. Someone was in front of her door. She sighed heavily as she tucked herself in the bed hoping that whoever may be at the door would leave her alone. No luck though because the person didn't have plans of leaving, instead they persistently buzzed the door bell until the brunette forced herself out of her comfy bed.
She passed by a full length mirror and stopped to inspect herself. She had been paler than the usual, her skin was now a lifeless gray. She used to have olive skin but now she looked like a piece of bleached skin, her curls were longer than the usual and was unkept, her eyes were a dead grey. What struck her most was the fast decline of her weight. When she pulled up the oversized cream knitted sweater just above her stomach she could actually see her ribs. She brushed this off though and continued to stare at the brunette who was only wearing a sweater that was long enough to stop at mid thigh, and maroon knee-high socks. She carefully combed through her hair using her hands and went off to open the door.
"Hello, Uhhh err... Well. uhhhh" a very nervous blonde said the mom
ent she opened the door. Aside from him, there were 3 more guys out the hall with him. There was a pink haired guy who was almost as pale as she was, next to him was a fairly cute blonde who's curls were a mess on top of his head and lastly standing beside him was an asian looking boy with black hair.
She stared at the tall nervous boy in front of her who seemed to be searching for the right words to say as he avoided her eyes at all costs. "You must be Jane." the pink haired guy spoke up. "No shit" the brunette said just under her breath as she leaned on the doorframe.
"Yeah, hey uhm if they sent you here to know if I have decided on taking the apartment can you just please fuck off I haven't decided yet." She glared at them shifting.
"But-" the tall blonde tried to say but he was cut off by the slam of a door. "We don't even know what you're talking about." he finished to himself.
"Well so much for having a great neighbor." The pale, candy flossed haired one said, who was Michael.
"Yeah... let's just go." Ashton said, he was the blonde with glasses.
"Yeah... uhm. Sure." Luke said. He was the tall and shy one. Calum, the asian looking one, could see Luke was affected though. Luke was always the awkward one and what the girl did to him didn't help Luke in building up his self-esteem. This made Calum angry at her for doing that to Luke. He rubbed circles around Luke's back and just said encouraging words at him.
"Don't worry bud, maybe she didn't mean to slam that door in our faces. It was just the wind or so." He said to Luke.
"Yeah the wind being her hands and not meaning it as in the strongest shove." Luke mumbled. Calum knew that she would eventually pay for that. "Don't worry mate, must be her period or something." The three boys chuckled.
"She must be a bitch, I mean who leaves fruit baskets out her door. Neighbors must be scared of her though" Calum pointed out the several baskets of fruit and other various food items all with the tag "Jane Eloise Rivers" on them. As the 4 boys entered their new apartment just across hers they heard heavy footsteps and just as the reached their door a girl about 5"8 stumbled on the ground in front of Jane's door. She must've lost her balance due to her rush to get there.
The blonde with glasses helped her up to her feet. "Hey, what's the rush?" he asked the poor girl was now franticall
y searching for something she must've dropped. "Uhmm. I am uhh. wait thanks but any chance you might have seen a key that might have dropped here while I fell?" She asked Ashton. "You mean this?" Michael said picking up a key just along the hallway.
"Oh Thanks!!!" The girl said while pressing on Jane's doorbell.
"JANE WHAT THE FUCK OPEN UP!" tThe redhead said whilst frantically pushing the button on her door.
Just as the boys were about to get in they heard a scream and what seemed to be the sound of vases breaking. The redhead was now slamming herself against the door and shrieked.
"What the hell is going on here." Calum said.
"JANE, DON'T DO THIS. OPEN UP AND WE CAN TALK ABOUT IT I WONT HURT YOU"
Another ferocious screech was heard behind the door.
the redhead tensed and I could see tears in her eyes, she was frightened but she still tried to pry off the door.
"JANE PLEASE" she begged "PLEASE OPEN THE DAMN DOOR"
She heard one more loud scream of terror and a thump and then she busted out her phone.
"shit" She cursed under her breath. Her eyes then averted from her phone to us. Her eyes we're now written with worry and a few tears streamed down her face. She flinched when there was another screech was heard from the other end of the door and a breaking sound.
"What about the key you dropped." Michael said with confusion and worry. She shot up and began to search her pocket for the key. Once she unlocked the door she pushed it open but there was a chair on the other end.
"Fuck this." She was frustrated and scared and angry. Michael then made his way towards the door and helped her push the door open untill the other remaining boys helped her. After a good 20 minutes of trying to push the door open the chair finally couldn't hold off and snapped. The screaming has long stopped and the place was silent.
The readhead, Amelia frantically searched the apartment for Jane. The four boys examined the damage. The living room was in place but the floor was filled with glass shards. On the hall just beside the door they saw a full length mirror that was shattered into pieces by something and Michael could see a trickle of blood and a few stands of... hair? They could see figurines picture frames scattered around and broken.
Then they heard Amelia's scream of horror. They quickly ran towards the direction of her voice only to see Amelia frozen in shock.
