The light shone brightly through the window lighting up the room. Nicola sat up and rubbed her eyes. She looked around the room, soon realizing that Steven is not there.
"Steve?" Nicola called out hoping the small boy was just hiding, but no one answered. "Steve!" She called again, this time her voice sounding more worried. She flung off her bed sheets and swung her feet over the side of her bed. Slipping on her fluffy slippers, she quickly stood up only to wobble a bit before falling back onto her bed. Again she stood up, this time slower to hold her balance and remain upright. Her eyes gazed around her room before a slip of paper laying on her desk caught her attention.

A note laid softly on Nicola's desk. The crumpled paper had weird markings on it that resembled words. As Nicola rubbed her sleepy eyes, she read over the note.
"Dear Miss and Mister,
Please be strong without me. I am off to change the world, and what I'm about to do, I might not survive. So before I die, please know that I love you and you are the family I never had. This maybe goodbye, but this is not the end. Please continue to change the world, small random acts of kindness is all it takes.
Your friend, Steve."
Nicola's heart dropped when she read this. She threw down the paper and grabbed her hooded cloak. She did not yet know where Steve had gone, but she was going after him. He would do it for her. But first she had to get past her parents.

Jack walked to Nicola's room and stood outside staring at the wooden door. He considered entering it, yet he didn't want to be clingy. So he decided to wait before walking in on the princess. "3, 2, 1,"  Jack thought to himself before holding up his fist to knock. After gently pounding the door three times with his fist, he reached for the handle and opened the door.

Precisely three seconds after opening the door, Jack was met with an uncomfortable screech which made his ears ring.

"Gawh! Get out!" Nicola screamed at the man from America as she threw a pillow at him, forcing him to close the door in defence.

"I'm sorry Nicola!" Jack called from the other side of the door. "Is it safe to come in?" He asked after waiting a bit longer.

"Yes. It is now safe to come back in." Nicola called in response to Jack's question. She had been in the middle of changing into some casual peasant wear when Jack walked in the first time, but now she was fully dressed and ready for the male to view her.

"Hey," Jack entered the room once again and smiled as he gazed upon Nicola. "How's it going screacher?" Nicola tilted her head in confusion but did not reply to his comment. She walked over to her desk and picked up the note from Steve. Nicola then turned to Jack and handed him the note.

"We have to go save him." She stated as Jack read over the note that he had been handed.

"I agree. But how do we know where he has gone too?" Jack looked at Nicola as she packed a small sac with various items.

"He's gone back to the warehouse. I can feel it. And I think he may be in trouble." Nicola mumbled as she quickly  threw various things into her small brown shoulder bag. "I don't want him to get hurt." She paused as she also stopped in her packing. Nicola looked down at the sac before looking up at Jack, her face painted with tears as they erupted from her eyes. "I love him."

Upon seeing the princess in tears, Jack quickly walked over to Nicola and wrapped his arms around her. "I love him too." His voice was soft as he embraced the female. He then closed his eyes and let Nicola fall into the embrace as she hugged him back, she lay her head against his chest and then he gently rested his head upon her head.

The two remained as such for what seemed like hours, yet it was only about 10 minutes. Amar passed by the princess's room silently, he would stop and peer into it only to see the one he loved hugging another man. He knew his chances with the princess were low, but his heart still longed for it to be him that Nicola had been hugging for so long. As the two began to part, so did Amar as he carried on his ways. He left without anyone even noticing he was there in the first place.

Jack looked at Nicola and smirked slightly. "Are you ready yet, miss screacher?" He chuckled.

"I sure am, mister Jack Taylor.." Nicola grinned slightly as she tried to tease him back. She then slung her bag over her shoulder and walked out of her room, leaving Jack to follow behind her. For they were off to find the little freckled boy named Steve.
