"Dan!" I awoke to the sound of my name being called. I groaned and stretched my arms over my head. I pull my pillow over my head a remember what today is. School. The first day of school. "Fricken," I mutter into my pillow. I hear the familiar squeak of my door opening and then someone pulls the pillow off of my face, "Dan! I yelled your name five minutes ago!" I sigh. My mom is towering over me with her hazel hair in curlers and half of a waffle in he hand. "Get ready for school!" She takes a bite of her waffle and scurries out of my room, shutting the door behind her. She yells, "You got twenty minutes!" I groan once again and slowly remove my covers. I get out of bed and stumble over the my dresser. "Freakin school. Freakin mom," I say school as if it is poison. A venomous liquid that slowly kills someone. That's the best any I would describe school. I open my top drawer and start taking shirts out, flinging the dirty ones over my shoulder. I smell each one and finally I come across one with only a small amount of odor. "This will work," I say, sliding the surprisingly stainless, black shirt over my bare chest. I then open another drawer and pull out a pair of black jeans. I exchange my pajama bottoms for the shorts and walk into my bathroom. Our bathroom. My older sister is singing a Justin Bieber song while brushing her teeth, loudly. I cover my hears and stand by the sink next to her. "Miley, think you can shut up?" I say giving her a glare. She shrugs, rinses her mouth, and skips out of the bathroom. I grab a comb and brush it through the tangles of my dirty blonde hair, not that I care how I look, but because my mom would kill me if I didn't look nice on my first day. I hope she knows that I'm not going to brush my hair everyday, and put on clean clothes. Cause, I honestly don't care. I sigh and slip on my rugged black tennis shoes and make my way down stairs. "Hi Dan, ready for school?" My mom asks in a perky voice. I snort and respond sarcastically, "As ready as I will ever be."
