I was getting used to Perrie not stopping by after class or during lunch periods, but after what happened today, I felt weird not talking to her. I knew we weren't together, but we were still close and she was my best friend regardless of whatever feelings we have that we both refused to let resurface.
So I sent her a text to meet me at my apartment after school. It was a little bold, and I would be lying if I said I wasn't hoping that something would happen. But I was going to try and keep it as friendly as possible, I couldn't let myself give in.
Perrie walked into the flat, the door closing behind her. I smiled at her as she fell onto the couch next to me, kicking her shoes off in the process.
"What's up?" She asked, setting her head in my lap.
I played with her hair, pulling a tight smile on my face.
"You okay?"
A line created between her eyebrows as they bunched together and her bottom lip tucked between her teeth.
After a brief moment of silence she spoke. "Yeah. I'm okay." She nodded.
I let a deep breath out through my nose.
"Perrie, you can tell me if you aren't. You know that." I whispered.
Her eyes were tearing up, and I knew she didn't want to let them fall, but she did. I wrapped my arms around her as she cried and apologized over and over again for letting herself break down.
"It's okay, Perrie. I get it." I spoke soothingly.
She shook her head. "I messed everything up. I lied to you and hurt you and I have the nerve to cry to you. You shouldn't have to be my shoulder to cry on, Jade, I don't deserve it."
"That's not true. It isn't your fault, we are friends and I'm going to be here for you." I said as I wiped her tears with my thumbs. "Whether you like it or not."
She giggled lightly. "I love you."
My heart jumped at her words, and it took me a few seconds to respond.
"I love you too." I replied.
She smiled while I got caught up in her ocean eyes, they were almost hypnotizing as I fell deeper and deeper into them.
I didn't even realize what I was doing until my lips were on hers, my nose inhaling her scent for the first time in months.
The kiss got more and more heated as the seconds went by, and I couldn't find the need or want to stop, I couldn't think of one reason to stop this from escalating on to something more. And that scared me, because I knew what I was trying to prove to myself, but I couldn't resist her. She was intoxicating.
I grabbed the hem of her shirt, pulling the useless fabric over her head and throwing it to the floor.
She broke our kiss. "Are you sure?" She asked.
I nodded. "Yes, I missed you so much." I breathed, grabbing her and flipping us over.
"What about Mary-Louise?" She questioned as she unbuttoned my pants.
I chuckled. "Mary-Louise and I aren't dating. She's a vampire, Perrie. One of Damon's friends, did you think we were actually together?"
She smirked. "I'm Damon's friend and I'm a vampire." She pointed out.
"Yes, but you are the only vampire that gets to see me naked." I responded cheekily.
Her eyes suddenly darkened with lust.
