"Ciiiiiiiiindy" yelled Megan. Cindy looked up to see her bestfriend waving 2 bright yellow passes infront of her eyes. Disinterested she turned her gaze back to the book she held in her hand. The book's main characters a guy named Joseph and a girl named Annie were professing their love to eachother. Cindy's breath laboured as her eyes skimmed over until she found the line she was looking for "Joseph, kiss me. Pleaded Annie.

Cindy had read this book at least 50 times, this book was given by her neighbour and bestfriend Kaden.  She treasured this book like it was her child, maybe it was because of her slightly 10 year old crush on him. Either way she loved it more than she loved anything else, so much she remembered every line of by heart. Just as she was about to turn the page, Megan ripped the book out of her hand and due to her tall length placed it on top on the dressers, where Cindy could not reach because she was merely a 5'3.

Groaning Cindy turned to Megan "I was just getting up to the good part." Megan sighed "I've heard this excuse a billion times." Continuing she said "Get up, I've got us tickets to the annual summers ball." Megan squealed and gushed and gushed about what they were going to wear and what not. Cindy however listened from one ear and threw it out the other, already making her mind up.

"No" she stated, why on earth would she spend a long 4 hours at a ball, in a claustrophobic room, with fake people. When she could spend 4 hours finishing 4 novels. "Absolutely not, I am not taking no for an answer." Megan butt in. When Megan realised that Cindy was going to revolt she quickly said " Kaden will be there." To Megan's surprise her bestfriend just raised an eyebrow, and took another book from the bookshelf next to her. "So?" Cindy questioned, her eyes starting to skim across the first chapter.

"SO, you can impress him, and maybe he likes you too." Megan said trying to convince her bestfriend. Cindy dismissively waved a hand, "There's no chance he'll like me"  Megan confused by her sudden change of attitude, grabbed Cindy's book out of her hand and stood infront of her hands on hips. Sighing Cindy continued "He's gay" Megan's mouth opened and closed but no word came out. "Yea me too" Cindy said watching her bestfriend's expressions.

"How do you know" Megan asked curious "This morning, I was putting up posters for the annual summers ball and Kaden had this guy cornered against the lockers, first I thought he was going to hit him, but then they started making out." Cindy said like it was no big deal.

Bewildered Megan watched gauging her bestfriend's reaction "You've liked/loved him for 10 years and your not hurt by this." Megan said slowly. Cindy laughed slightly "Meg, 10 years is a long time to fall out of love." Standing up she stretched, looking back at Megan she realised that her bestfriend was watching with concern in her eyes. Dropping back down on the bed she gave Megan a bear hug. "I'm fine Meg, trust me." Megan seemed to relax after that.

"What about the summer ball?" Megan asked after a while. The girls were currently situated infront of the tv finishing of homework and eating. "What about it?" Cindy aksed looking over to her. "Ryanaskedmeout" Megan mumbled out. "Hold on girl, Ryan asked you out, WHAT HOW COULD YOU NOT TELL ME." Cindy asked giddy with excitement for her friend.

"I came to your house just to do that and to tell you about the ball, and then you told me about Kaden and i thought you'd be sad so I-" Megan said rambling. "Shh girl, I'm so happy for you." Cindy said she jumped up from the couch and gave her friend another hug. "Cindy I need a favour from you and I'll be so happy if you- " before Megan could start rambling again Cindy butt in "Anything" she said smiling.
