Aphmau's POV

I tore my eyes away from the vast emptiness of the ocean to run up the stairs towards my room.

I got up to my room and closed the door gently, not wanting to wake up Levin and Malachi. I turned around from the door and was startled by a mirror that wasn't there this morning.

I cautiously approached it, seeing something in the mirror.

It was me.

But it wasn't me.

I had shoulder lengh hair that was full of tiny ringlets, my eyes were a lighter shade of auburn brown.

But what really caught my attention was the clothing I was wearing.

I was gracing a white dress, almost like what a bride would wear to her wedding party. It was a regular white satin dress with a sweetheart neckline that hugged my curves on my tiny frame.

I held a bouquet with one hand, and a bloodied knife in the other.

I looked back up to 'my' face to see the lips moving.

"Choose." Her lips mouthed to me from the other side of the mirror.

I blinked once and the mirror had dissapeared.

I jumped and quickly turned around as the door slowly creaked open.

Zoey poked her head into the room with a concerned expression.

"You've been up here for qui-" She stopped midsentence when she saw my face.

She fully opened the door and took a small step towards me, her hand still on the doorknob.

"Aphmau, are you okay? You look like you've just seen a ghost! You should have a seat for a minute, you're shaking!" She exclaimed, gently grabbing my elbow and leading me towards the bed.

I didn't want to, but I sat down with her anyways.

"I-I'm fine Zoey, I....um.....T-Thanks! I mean, for taking care of the kids! I'm not sure what I would've done if you hadn't watched over them!" I quickly rattled off a sentence that I was saving for another conversation instead of explaining the event that had just occurred.

Tension hung heavy in the air between us.

Zoey gave me a knowing look.

"Aphmau......... What are you not telling me?" I gulped silently.

"N-Nothing! I'm fine!" I said, smiling weakly.

Zoey narrowed her eyes slightly.

"I didn't ask how you were......."

My eyes darted all around the room, trying to think of an excuse.

"I- um..... I have to go see Cadenza!" I burted out suddenly, standing up as I did.

Zoey sighed as she stared me down.

"Fine, but this conversation isn't over." She stated. I nodded eagerly as I walked backwards to the door, yearning to be out of my room.

Zoey watched me exit the room slowly, sighing once I was out. I left the door slightly ajar and softly walked down the stairs. Once I was downstairs, I ran out to the village.

"CADENZA?!" I shouted, my voice ringing throughout the village.

"Here!" I heard someone say faintly from the village plaza. I quickly started to race towards the sound of the voice and stopped where the statue of Lady Irene used to be. I looked around and spotted Cadenza by a fabric trader stall.

"Candenza! There you are, can I ask a favor of you?" I asked, slightly out of breath from running.

"Well what is it?" Cadenza asked curiously.

"I need a haircut."

I can't do this anymore. I used to love writing this, but I just can't anymore. I might never update this book again. I might be inspired and write in it every-day. Please don't be mad, I just can't do this series for right now.
