"What time is it?" Kayla thought sitting in her high-school class, she usually asked this to herself when she was too lazy to look at the clock. She was laying her head on the desk, half asleep. Until the teacher suddenly yelled her name.

"Kayla! Sleeping in class again? Do I need to send you to the principles office?!" Ms. Clover shouted across the room at Kayla.

Kayla lifted her head, her turquoise eyes open halfway, and she looks exhausted, "No... Ms. Clover... you don't" She mumbled loud enough for Ms. Clover to hear.

Typically Kayla didn't care about getting yelled at and would get up herself and walk to the office, but since her mother said she would make her have to sleep in the same room as her little brother if she came back with another paper saying, "Fell asleep in class, make sure she gets to bed at night", made her try to pay attention, even though in reality all the note needs to say is "Slept" and her mother would understand.

About 5 minutes of looking at a chalkboard with equations and different colors of chalk, the bell rings, waking up Kayla fully and she jumps out of her chair. As she quickly stuffs her binder and math book into her backpack she looks at the student next to her. His name was Evan, and he seemed strange, usually when the bell rings he's the first one out, and would be talking shit about the other students. Especially Kayla, as she "Loves" to sleep in class.

Evan lifted his head and had a evil grin, Kayla suddenly felt something on her hand. She looked down and see's that Evan has stabbed his sharpest pencil into her hand, making it bleed. She looked back and Evan and swiped the pencil out of his hand and aimed for the trash with her left hand. As she throws the pencil into the trash, and held her right hand in pain.

"Why did you do that?" Kayla questions as Even starts to pack his stuff.

"Maybe you'll stay awake in your next class now..." He says sarcastically rolling his eyes.

Kayla started at him unamused, "Have fun looking for your pencil..." She mumbled, putting on her backpack, but making sure that she didn't move her hand too much.

Kayla soon started to head for the Nurses Office, "How will I explain this... without making Evan want to slit my throat...?" she thought stopping in the middle of the hallway.

The bell for her next class rings, and Kayla runs to the Nurses Office. She pokes her head through the door and walks in.

"Hello Kayla, what happened this time?" Nurse Alison asked impatiently.

Kayla hesitated but soon answered with, "I accidentally stabbed my hand while playing with a pencil..." She lied trying to convince the Nurse.

Alison rolled her eyes and got up, and out of her chair, "Show me your hand." She commands as Kayla lifted her used-to-be bleeding hand, "We'll clean the stab, and put a band-aid on it with antibiotic sab." She says as she walks over to her "Desk".

Kayla sits down on a chair in the corner of the room. Quietly humming and trying to make sure her sleeves cover up almost every small inch of her whole arms. Soon Nurse Alison walks over with the items she needs and starts to clean the wound quickly, as it is rather small it doesn't take long. She puts the band-aid on it and silently writes Kayla a pass.

"Thank you Alison." Kayla smiles, and takes the pass to her next class. She knocks on the door and her science teacher opens it.

"You got a pass?" He asks politely, holding out his hand.

Kayla nods and puts the pass in his hand quickly and quietly. She walks into the classroom and takes a seat. Suddenly feeling tired again she tries to take notes for the test tomorrow in the class, but suddenly falls asleep on her half-written notes.

The bell rang and school was over, Kayla started panting from being startled by the bell and put her stuff back into her backpack. Her band-aid falling off in the process of doing so, but she doesn't notice, and walks to her bus normally, drooping her head so her dyed aqua hair covered her face, and clenching her drawing notebook to her chest.

She could hear some of the people giggling at her strange way of walking to the bus, but she ignored it, and started to walk faster.
