As Myste walked into the inn, she could hear - or rather not hear - the room get quiet. Ah, the things that happen when you leave your village.
Myste walked up to the owner of the inn and deposited coins in front of him, then walked up to the second floor. She went to the very far end of the hallway and entered her room. She unclasped her cloak and draped it on her bed, looking down at the cat at her feet.
"Mouse, you said the Nightmare is rising? How could this be?"
Myste sat down on the bed and looked down at the oddly named cat.
"I dont know! I got the message from Carl himself!"
Mouse scrambled up onto the bed next to Myste, avoiding the cloak and nervously hugging his tail. The two sat there and stared out the window at the stars, which were slowly being covered up by clouds.
"Oh I miss the old days..."
Myste sighs and lays back on the bed, Mouse jumping off in order to not get squashed.
"We should sleep."
Myste gets up and picks up her cloak, pulling the blanket onto the floor before laying back down.
"Goodnight Mouse."
Mouse curls up in the blanket, faithfully at the side of his friend's bed.
"Goofight Myste."
The two soon drifted off to sleep, dreaming of days gone by.
