Liam's POV
Time flies during third period. I'm still embarrassed of what happened a couple of hours ago but lunch time is always the time I get my mind off of things.
I see Louis as I approach the round table surrounded by high intelligent people. There's no one I really talk to at the table except for Louis, we've became really close ever since he moved here from Doncaster.
He gets up to get in line for lunch and me, not far behind. "Okay, so I was thinking, you know how once a week there is a party that occurs during school year, yeah?" Louis asks with both of his hands pressed together. My mind is wondering off thinking about Makaela until I realize he's staring that me.
"Are you, are you talking to me?" I ask , my eyes looks around to see if I was mistaken.
"No, the Queen! Yes Einstein, I was talking to you" he says harshly. "No need to be harsh" I raise my hands.
"Thinking about the fight?" his eyes soften.
"How did you know about the fight?" my eyes widen. What if Makaela told? No, she wouldn't do that!
"God." the Doncaster boy looks up at the sky, my eyes follow up to the ceiling. He snaps back into reality and points to my jacket "No i'm joking, the stained blood on your sweater gives it away"
"No, its-" before I could finish Louis raises up his hand, his eyes focused on the front of the line. "Did you see that?"
"No? See what?"
"One of the Imposers just cut." the group of people who enjoy imposing.
"What are you? In sixth grade?" I couldn't help but chuckle. "Who cut this time?" my smile still not leaving my face as I raise up my glasses.
"Makaela Carson."
My head snaps up towards her direction. There she is, smiling. A real smile. Not a smile that I can see has a frown in it. She's so beautiful.
"I think I might tell her something, sorry mate" he walks ahead, I grab his arm before he got any closer. "No, Louis think about what you're doing here! She's an Imposer!" Even though it doesn't matter, I need a way to convince him to not tell her anything. He yanks his arm out of my grip before I grab it again. "Don't, please, lets just get back in line with the friends that we don't talk to, yeah buddy?"
"Oh, hell no!" He yanks once again and this time rushes up to her and taps her shoulder. "E-excuse me, Makaela?" Stupid stubborn Louis.
I quickly turn and run behind the group of friends so Makaela wouldn't see me. I peek through and see the Harry lad telling Louis something, grabbing her forearm. I appreciate Harry very much but I can't help but feel a bit jealous that he's very close to her.
Makaela frowns and Louis turns back, returning to the line. I go next to him, "What happened?" Louis eyes stay looking straight forward, "they are goddesses" he whispers.
"Erm, okay then." I honestly don't know what to say to that.
Makaela's POV
"Long time no see Makaela!" Will says standing up, hugging me. "I've missed you alot while I was in America! Oh and I got you this!" She takes me to her bag and pulls out an iPhone case with a vintage American flag on it.
"I've missed you as well, and the case looks adorable thank you!" I smile, hugging her again. "I knew you'd like it"
"Forgetting someone?" I know that soft British accent anywhere. "Laurel!" I hug her tightly, missing her deeply since she left a week before thanksgiving. "How are you ladies?" she asks in her best professional voice. Me and Will look at each other. "Clear" we both say in unison.
"How's it going bitches?" Laurel says sounding more relaxed than before but still with a soft voice.
"Are you fucking calling me a bitch?!" Laurel jumps at the voice. She quickly turns around meeting eyes with the curly haired boy.
"Harry," she sighs. "Scared ya, didn't I?" He smirks, throwing a carrot at her. She fails at her attempt to dodge the thrown carrot. Her cheeks flushed, "no, course not, I just, I just" her voice high pitched.
"I just, I just. Spit it out Pinnock" Harry imitates her soft voice. "I don't have to explain myself to you" she then turns around quickly back towards us. Harry laughs but it is nearly audible. Laurel looks at the ground smiling to herself.
"Spill blonde!" Will playfully pushes her and Laurel's head snaps back up to us. "Nothing really. He's just messing with me like he does to every girl in the school" her smile disappears as she finishes the sentence. "The only person I see him act different is with Makaela" she says still frowning. As we walk towards our end of the table, I try to cheer her up, throwing my arm around her "Oh honey, trust me, he's all yours" I give an encouraging smile.
Laurel places herself next to me while Will sits across from us.
Time passes on as we talk about what we did over the holidays. And I learn so much. For Will, being 17, she says she feels free. She had a one night stand while in America and Laurel won her cheerleading competition for a local cheer group she is involved in. Me, well I basically told them I helped my dad with his car shop and promote his shop around town.
"Hey, I think you have a secret admirer" Will says reaching over the table to whisper to me, a smirk playing on her lips.
I turn around and meet Liam's eyes. He immediately turns back to his friends as soon as we make eye contact. I don't know why but when we our eyes met, heart rate quickened as I saw the brown eyes through his glasses from a distance.
"If I were you, I'd totally break up with Drew for the nerd who sits by the trash can" she sarcastically states, taking a sip of her lemonade. "Where is Drew anyways?" Laurel asks. I hadn't even realize he wasn't here. "I don't know."
The rest of the day went by pretty fast, making eye contact with random students and within those random students, I made several eye contact with Liam. I notice I have quite a few classes with him.
Once the bell rang for dismissal, I looked around for Drew. Instead, Harry is in my sight. "Hey there Mak, ready to go?" he swirls his car keys around his finger.
"Where's Drew? He takes me home"
"He texted me saying that I do so." Harry replies, pursing his lips.
"Oh, okay" I really wish he was here. I haven't seen much of him all day. Me and Harry walk side by side into his car.
He reaches for the radio, turning it on.
[Mumford & Sons. Little Lion Man]
As Harry sings along, I cant help but giggle. He tilts his head back, hitting the notes perfectly. The rest of the car was filled with music that was on his playlist that I didn't mind listening too. He actually has a unique voice. My smile faints as I see a tall boy walking with his head down ahead of the car. Liam. I can never get a break can I?!
"A break from what? We just literally got off of Thanksgiving break" Harry furrows his eyebrows in confusion. "I said that out loud?" I ask, hoping he could just read minds or something. "You kinda did, doesn't matter, no worry" he shrugs.
"It's just, I know that boy that were about to past," Harry follows my eyes to Liam. "I've been in your life since you were in diapers, I have never seen him" the tone in his voice is filled with curiosity.
"Well no not personally but I've seen him a couple of times"
Harry stays silent. Were about to pass Liam until something inside me made me yell, "Stop!"
