It was the 5th time I received that email, THIS WEEK. I'd thought about entering but I most likely wouldn't even get matched knowing my luck

"Valentina" I announce from my laptop, I'm currently lying on my bed staring at my email, the email

"Yes" Valentina groans, not only was Valentina making a mess of my bedroom by tearing my closest apart but she was forcing me to go to a party, those things don't mix well with me

"Your not going to find anything" I say smirking, lets face it I'm more of a inside person so I don't own your average skimpy party clothes.

"Aphrodite I know you must have something" Valentina says continuing to dig though my now messy closest, I cringe at the name she calls me.

My name is not only  hard to pronounce but it doesn't roll off the tongue nicely. My mother who loves the thought of love decided to call me Aphrodite which is a greek love god, cheesy I know. When I started high school I changed it to Ash which I prefer much more. Only Valentina and my mum know about my actual name thankfully, and I wish for it to stay that way.

Aphrodite   =   Afro- die- t

"Aha!" Valentina yells triumphantly, this can't be good

"What?" I groan, I turn my head and see her holding a black mini dress, "Mom I said for you to throw that out" I cringe, my mother was leaning against my door frame watching Valentina and I

"I knew you were going wear it one day" My mom says grinning. Most mothers would burn a dress like that in a instant but my mom wants to be young and wild, so she doesn't give a rats ass what I do.

She wears worse things shorter and dresses that leaves no room for imagination but it doesn't faze me, she can do whatever makes her happy. Even though at 2am she comes home drunk with another man.

See my dad left us when I was 3 years old and my mother has been dealing with me for years. She used to have a drug and drinking addiction but thankfully she's got over that, the drug addiction at least. Not so much the drinking

"Your wearing this" Valentina says shoving the small dress into my hands, awaking me from my daydream

"No please" I beg, this was getting ridiculous. I look at Valentina and my mother who have now started pouting "Oh what the hell I'll come" I say giving in, I mean Valentina is my best friend and I should risk my Saturday night for her

"Yayyy!" Valentina and my mother scream, I cover my ears and frown, this was going to be a long night.

The music and yelling can be heard from a 2 blocks away as we pull up to Ryan's house. Teenagers are scattered among the pool area and large front yard, most dancing or making out with someone. Ew

"I didn't realise there was going to be this many people" I say biting my nails looking at the house, biting my nails was a habit even though Valentina nags at me to stop

"Well you should've its the party of the year" Valentina says, I don't keep up to date with the gossip, I find it stupid.

We park the car and get out of it and walk to Ryan's, as soon as we walk though the doors the music blasts into our ears and the strobe lights blind us, I've never been good with flashing lights. I turn back around to Val who was behind me

"I'm gonna find a guy to hook up with" Val yells over the music, classic Valentine

"Okay, don't do anything I wouldn't do" I yell raising my eyebrow at her. Val is prone to mistakes, thats slightly hypocritical coming from me though. Valentina smiles and pushes though the crowd to find her next victim, or make-out buddy.
