Sorry for not updating my story lately, it's been busy in college and a lot of things have happened in life. It was difficult to find motivations to start chapter 2, but I guess if there's a time for writing it, it would be now. So here we go~
Previously from Chapter 1: Angel
Juri, a girl from the same class as Youhei, becames friends, yet Youhei still sees Juri as an angel sent down by his deceased grandfather to look after him. As time flew by, the friendship-angelic relationship morphed into a bond that connected for the next decade.
Chapter 2: Support
It was second grade, and third grade came by before anyone expected it. There was a sudden change in the class shifts in that time. As a result, all of the students in second grade stayed together in third grade also. With that said, Juri and Youhei were still in the same class, sitting under the same roof every morning. During these days, Youhei's mother, who resided in United States for the past years, contacted Youhei with a surprising, yet sad message.
"By the end of your third year, you're moving to United States"
Youhei was definitely happy being able to see his mother again, but the back of the mind caused his tears to drip out, slowly.
"Friends, angels, what will happen to them? I don't want to leave them, and I'm sure they don't want me to leave either."
The memories Youhei held for all the fun times he had with Juri and other friends were countless. Every single day were precious days and times spent together. Youhei didn't want to change his life by going into another foreign place.
Then the time came...
It was November 8th 2002, the day where Youhei officially left his school. With his last footsteps going out the doors, Juri was wandering, cluelessly and unsure what will happen to Youhei that moment.
"I'll be moving to the United States."
"Heh... really going to miss you here. Everyone in our class that is."
"It's not a decision I wanted to make, if I could I would love to stay. Juri, good luck with what awaits in the future for you... Keep in contact."
"Will do. Good luck on your side too."
And simple as it is, there goes the farewell. Although it was tough for both sides to accept the change, it was something unevitable, and no one could've stopped it. A few days later, Youhei departed his hometown, heading for New York, where his life was then changed completely.
While it was a long ride to New York: during the flight, Youhei looked into his Book of Memories. Book of Memories was a book he compiled with everyone's contacts and good luck messages, before leaving the school. Although it was a tradition usually done during graduation, it was a special case for Youhei to start his three years earlier than everyone else. Youhei constantly looked at the pages Juri wrote.
"I'll never forget these writings, these words, and this person. The one who supported me more than anyone else when I needed someone."
End.
Chapter 3: Departure ~ Preview
From leaving his friends and hometown to a completely new world with complete foreign cultures and society, how will Youhei cope this loneliness and start his life anew from scratch? While at the same time, what is happening back in Youhei's hometown and Juri and everyone else's response to his departure?
Note: Sorry for such a short chapter... my memories of ten years ago are still vague and really trying to think up the details. For now I guess you'll have to stick with what I have for now...
