Her Pain

"Hey Mari-Cherry!" Adrien said cheerfully as he saw Marinette walking home.

"Just... stop..."She replied sadness staining her voice. She really wasn't in the mood to talk to anyone right now. Especially Adrien.

"What's wrong? You aren't usually like this." He asked, noticing that something was clearly wrong.

She didn't reply.

They were cutting through the park and Adrien saw a bench near by. He grabbed her wrist and said,"Come on let's sit down."

He sat down waiting for Marinette, but she pulled away.

"Sorry not today." She stated, slowly starting to walk away.

"But why not princess?"

That's when she broke.

The tears fell from her face fast and never ending. Her wails were quiet of true pain and longing. No matter how hard she had tried her pain never left. She couldn't stop crying about her lost knight.

"Princess I'm sorry-"

"NO!"She yelled," Just leave me alone."

"Mari I'm sorry." He stated.

"It doesn't matter." She replied. "You don't know what it's like to lose your knight."

She ran home, leaving the poor boy frozen in thought of what had happened.

(The night before)

The akuma was stronger than usual. She had the power to cause people to commit their own deaths, because of the hatred she possessed their hearts with. It was a difficult battle, and the heroes were loosing.

Marinette and Chat Noir were cornered on the top of the eiffel tower. Marinette needed to find a place to transform to help Chat but she couldn't find one while she was atop the tower. The akumas was closing in and their time was running out. She was out of ideas for once. But Chat wasn't...

"Princess," he told her," I love you. For the past few times I've met you, I've fallen in love with you. I love you more than Ladybug. And that is why I must do this."

His hand moved towards his miraculous ring as he flashed one of his signature grins. He took off his miraculous and thought,'Goodbye Plagg.' His kwami responded, 'Goodbye kiddo, I'm proud.' Then Chat Noir smashed the miraculous into pieces. Marinette's earrings broke during this. Before Chat detransformed he looked over at Marinette and smiled.

"Marinette, never forget me. Goodbye my Princess."

And he jumped.

All she could think was why. Why had he done that. She couldn't even tell him she was Ladybug. That stupid cat.

Her stupid cat.

Once the police helped her get down from the tower, she headed home crying. Once one miraculous breaks, every other one breaks as well. She missed Tikki. She missed transforming into Ladybug. She missed patrols. She missed fighting akumas. She missed her kitty.

Why did she fall in love with her silly kitty? Why couldn't she get rid of the pain. Why couldn't she stop the tears from falling.

Why didn't she say goodbye.

Now she knew...

She would never stop longing for her knight to come back...

Her pain was just too great.
