I know that when you first hear the term "child soldiers", you immediately think of youngins armed with guns, strapped with bombs or used as human targets... shields.
Well, what if I told you that not all fight in actual wars.
These "child soldiers" are armed with nothing but their voices, which tremble (along with their hands) when they pull triggers of their vocal cords to release only thoughts.
These "child soldiers" have undergone a bombardment of abuse and isolation, forcing them to retreat into themselves, lockout emotions which could only ever lead to more sorrow. Left to wait and suffer in silence because "the place I wish to be", is a place "not meant" for them. Like there is a wall built around happiness with a sign tipped: KEEP OUT. This is not to keep the happiness contained, oh no, it's meant to keep them from ever experiencing it.
So, whether it be between the sheet, out in the streets, or in a place just within your reach—
Remember, there are little warriors. And just because they don't actually fight in wars; it doesn't make their fight any less of a battle.
