"Abiit nemine salyato...

Abiit nemine salyato...

Abiit nemine salyato...

memento mori."

Peter etched the Latin script onto his notebook, creating a thick, black cloud of of graphite as he roughly traced over each individual letter. Peter pushed back the floppy rabbit ears dangling from his hat as he wrote, not paying any attention to the lesson on grammar his teacher Mr. Stanton was presenting to the class. Peter was barely passing the Latin class; he two points shy of a failing grade of 64. It was hard for him to pay attention in his classes. There were always so many thoughts swarming through his mind. It was almost impossible to keep track of those, let alone the added thoughts his classes added. Peter continued to scribble on the back of his notebook, covering his ear with his right hand in attempts to block out Mr. Stanton's lecture.

"Bibere venenum in auro...

Consummatum est...

Consummatum est..."

It was a poem he was working on constructed of his favorite quotes in Latin. It didn't make much sense, but it made sense to him. After all, that's all that mattered. Peter tucked a lock of blonde hair behind his ears and continued to write. The discordant scribbles eased his mind and quieted the incoherent static playing in his head. He wrote all of his poems in Latin. Peter liked Latin a lot. He was actually quite good at it despite what his grades showed. He also liked Mr. Stanton, but he wasn't exactly sure if Mr. Stanton liked him. Mr. Stanton was very kind and patient with Peter, but sometimes Peter felt that Mr. Stanton thought he was stupid.

Mr. Stanton announced a quiz that would take place this Friday. Unfortunately Peter was able to block this important information out. The quiz on Friday would now be a pop quiz for Peter. Silver smudges of graphite stained Peter's hand. He put down his pink mechanical pencil and lifted his hand to examine the blots of black and grey. He twisted his hand around and flinched. He absolutely hated when this happened. He whimpered quietly as he put his hand down and tried clean his hand. When he lowered his hand, he was met with a little blue pixie sitting on the edge of his desk. He looked her up and down, not exactly surprised like someone might generally be to find a pixie sitting on their desk. The pixe was about the size of a small Beanie Baby. She had blue skin, splatted with purple freckles. Light blue curls fell above her striking yellow eyes and she sat there with her arms crossed, like she had something important to tell him.

"Peter." The pixie had a soft, squeaky voice.

"You know my name?" Peter said quietly as he tried to keep his voice down.

"I have a message for you. It is of uttermost importance that you--" Peter interrupted her.

"Of course you know my name. You're not real."

"Not real? Of course I'm real!" The pixie seemed a little shocked by his response.

"Felix." Mr. Stanton took notice of Peter talking, however he could not see the pixie like Peter could. Since Mr. Stanton referred to him as Felix, his Latin name, he concluded that he wasn't angry with him and continued to whisper to the Pixie.

"You're not real." Peter said again as he lowered his voice this time.

"Okay, kid. Regardless, I have a very important message for you... King Aemilius has requested that a--" Peter interrupted her again.

"I must have forgotten to take my medicine..." The pixie ruffled her delicate wings to show she was frustrated.

"It is of uttermost importance that you venture to--" The pixie tried to deliver her message again, but of course, Peter continued to interrupt her. The pixie glared at him and tensed up slightly.
