"Dean...!" A small voice cried.

Dean currently was laying in his room. He was listening to his music, having it blasted all the way. He couldn't hear the voice.

"D-Dean!" The voice cried louder.

The source of the voice was Sam, yet he was younger, much younger. He was crying for Dean because of a storm that had rolled in. Whenever the thunder hit, he would yell for Dean.

The storm wouldn't have scared Sam, say he was older. Sam was around five years old though, so it was really scary to him.

"DEAN..!!" Sam cried, climbing out of bed.

"Smoke on the water.." Dean sang along quietly, getting up.

Dean ended up pacing the room, he did this often when he was bored or listened to music. He still was completely unaware of Sam calling him.

Sam ran out of his room, running down the empty halls to his brother's room. As soon as he got to Dean's room, he banged on the door.

Dean took his earbuds out, looking towards the door. "Sam?"

"Dean!!"

Dean opened his door, looking down at Sam. He knelt down to Sam's height.

"What's wrong Sammy?"

A large burst of thunder struck causing Sam to scream and hug Dean.

"T-thunder.." Sam whimpered.

Dean sighed, picking up his brother. "It's just thunder Sam, it's not gonna hurt you"

"Yes it is.."

"It can't hurt you, it's just sound"

"It hurts my feelings.."

Dean could barely hold in a laugh, that was just too funny.. Even if it was used in this context.

"Well.. Do you wanna hang out in here until the storm passes?"

Sam nods, squeezing his thin arms tight around Dean. "Yea.."

"Alright" Dean sighed, sitting his brother down.

Sam jumped at another burst of thunder, nearly crying now. "Deaaannnn..."

"Whattttt?"

"Make it stoppppp"

"I can't"

"Why...?"

"It's the weather, I can't change it"

"But thunder scares me Dean..."

"It used to scare me too Sammy, it's okay"

Obviously it didn't, Dean was just trying to help Sam.

"Really?"

"Yea, you wanna know what I did?"

"What?"

"I would play music louder than the storm"

Sam almost face palmed at how obvious that was. Why hadn't he done that? Because he wanted to hang out with Dean.

"I.. I tried that and it didn't work.."

Dean sighed, running a hand through his hair. "Well, what do you want me to do?"

"S.. Stay with me until the storm ends..?" Sam asked, using his signature puppy eyes.

Dean couldn't say no to that, Sam knew the puppy eyes were his weakness. "Fine.."

Sam grinned, climbing into Dean's bed.

"Hey, your room, because you'll fall asleep and I'm not carrying you"

"Deannnnn"

"Sam"

"Deannnnnnnnnnnnnn"

"No"

"DEANNNNNNN"

"Fine!"

Sam snuggled into the covers, taking in the scent of his brother that was left there from the last time he was laying. The smell of cheap shampoo mixed with the smell of the impala was comforting to Sam.

Dean sighed and sat down next to Sam, looking down at his brother.

Sam was close to already being asleep before thunder shook him.

"D-Dean..!" Sam cried, instantly sitting up.

Sam hugged Dean tightly, burying his face in his brother's chest.

"Hey, Sam.. It's okay, it's just thunder, you're gonna be okay"

Sam whimpered. "L-lay with me.. P-please..."

Dean sighed. "Yea Sammy.. Whatever helps you"

Dean carefully laid down, trying not to crush his brother.

"Hey Dean..."

"Yea Sammy..?"

"Thank you.."

"No problem...."

"Dean...?"

"Yea?"

"Why would dad never.."

"Because he was being a dick, it doesn't matter"

"But it.. He always called me a girl whenever this scared me a-and.. H-he.."

"Dad isn't here so you're okay Sam"

"Yea but.."

"Just..." Dean hesitated. "Think if me as dad if you'll feel better"

"Okay.. You're better than dad"

Dean didn't respond, deciding to just let Sam talk until he fell asleep now.

"A lot better actually.. Thank you daddy"

It took so much for Dean to not get up right there and leave. It also took a lot for him to not enjoy that.

"You're welcome Sam.." Dean mumbles.

"I love you Dean"

Dean is silent for a moment before he hums in response.

Sam eventually falls asleep after that, not bothered by the thunder anymore. It didn't matter if there was thunder because Daddy Dean would save him. It couldn't hurt him.

It would never hurt him again.
