"And that is how your dad and i met and how your grandpa stopped drinking." I explained to my son, Elliott, who was 5 years old. We may not be his real parents but we will treat him like that.
"Mom, why is dad always kissing you?" Elli asked. "That is how your dad shows he loved me."
"Last night why did dad have something in you and you were making this animal type noise." I look at him with wide eyes. "I will tell you when you older, now eat your ice cream."
