5 YEARS LATER

All was well in the kingdom and the prince and princess were happier than ever, but the princess was still thinking about what Ember had told her 5 years earlier about the elves and wizards. She knew that there was no way that the stories that she'd once heard as a child could be true, but what if they were and Ember was telling the truth.

"....I thought it would make a change from being stuck here all day." A murmured voice said

"That's a great idea mother." Ember agreed

"What about you Lexa, what do you say?" Her mother asked

Not realising that her mother had been speaking to her and her brother, Lexa looked at her mother confusingly

"Em...Sorry, what's happening?" She asked

"Lexa. Weren't you listening to your mother?" The king asked

"She was probably dreaming about Lord Erite coming tomorrow" Ember grinned

"Why would I be thinking about Lord Erite?" Lexa asked her brother smugly

"Not thinking about Lord Erite Idiot, thinking about the fact that his son Edward is coming with him." Ember said making kissy faces at Lexa.

"And what is that supposed to mean, Ember?" Their mother asked

"Well. Last time Edward was here, Lexa went red in the face because Lexa likes Edward" Ember said singing the last part.

"I DO NOT!" Lexa screamed at Ember

"DO!" Ember screamed back

Ember and Lexa continued to scream "DO!" and "NOT!" at each other for a couple of minutes.

"ENOUGH!" Screamed the king

Lexa and Ember looked at their father and then looked at the ground in shame

"Now I don't care if Lexa likes Lord Erite's son or not, but you do not argue when you feel like it, do I make myself clear?" The king asked

"Yes Father. Sorry Father" Lexa and ember apologised

"I understand that brothers' and sisters' will argue and fight, look at me and your uncle Mylar, we were the best of friends growing up and then we argued all the time for no reason, but you two are so close with each other and you shouldn't be arguing." The king explained gently

"We know father, sometimes we can, I don't know" Lexa began to reason

"Forget we are the prince and princess?" Ember helped Lexa

Lexa shook her head in agreement

"You see, even when the two of you just fought there, after your father explained to you, you helped each other explain the reason why you fought." The queen added

Lexa and Ember looked at each other and smiled with gratitude

"Ember, you are the heir to the throne, you shouldn't be tormenting your sister because of someone she may or may not like." The king told Ember

"And Lexa, I do not care if you like Edward, you are my Daughter and you are free to like anyone you wish, as long as they can provide us with allied support." Her father added at the end

Both Lexa and Ember Smiled and they both looked at each other.

"You're right father, I need to be more responsible, Lexa I'm sorry for tormenting you about Edward, and you know I just want to see you happy and safe, that's all." Ember apologised

"It's alright Ember, I know that's why you do what you do and I believe your reasons, but you have to know that it isn't always fun for me when you torment in front of your friends, but I know that it can also be my fault for driving you to do it, so I'm sorry too." Lexa also apologised

The king, queen, Lexa and Ember sat in silence and continued their breakfast.

"Wait, Mother, what were you saying to Ember before all this, I'm sorry I wasn't listening?" Lexa asked her mother

"Well, I thought it might sound fun for me, you and Ember to go for a horse-ride today" her mother said

"A horse ride where, we aren't allowed past the village?" Lexa asked

"Well, that was when you and Ember were little, you are both now old enough to go past the village, so I thought I would take you" The queen announced

"Wait and you're okay with this?" Ember asked their father

Both Ember and Lexa looked at the king, who shared a look with the queen

"Whose idea do you think it was?" The king said

Ember and Lexa looked at each other in excitement and ran to give their father a hug.
