The bell rang and the two shot up from their seats, grabbing their bags and rushing out the doors. "You got plans?" Dodger excitedly asked. "Well, I'll tell you soon." Joel replied with a grin on his face. The pair of fifteen year olds nodded knowingly and ran down the streets, finally ending up at a small diner. "The usual, mom!" Joel said, smiling at a tall middle aged woman with sandy brown hair and hazel eyes. "Same, D." Dodger added, and the woman smiled. Joel pointed at their usual booth in the corner next to a window.
After about five minutes, a salad and a cheeseburger where delivered to the table. "Thanks Mrs.D." Dodger politely smiled. "Anytime, you silly kids." She smiled, and walked back behind the counter to serve more customers. "So, I got really cool plans." Joel smiled, and took out a notebook from his backpack. He flipped to the middle of the book on a dog-eared page with a bunch of writing on it. "Read this." He said, passing the book to his best friend sitting across from him. "Dodger, I'm planning something cool." He said, before taking a bite of his burger. "Go skinny dipping in a pool of glow sticks in the middle of the night" She read as she ate. "Have an awesome sleepover" She blushed a little, but tried to hide her feelings. "Go across the country on a road trip" "Won't it be awesome?" Joel said as he finished his salad. "Hell yeah!" Dodger smiled her familiar smile and took the last few bites of her burger.

We sat on the roof together, the sun slowly setting as we played "Radio" by Lana Del Rey. I looked over to Joel and quietly mumbled, "... I love you..." He looked over and blushed. "W-What...?" He asked. "Nothing..." I said, trying to hide what I felt.

"... Um... Dodger..." Joel whispered. "... I-I'm..." He hesitated. "... What...?" She asked. "... Your the only one who's going to know this, but.... I'm gay..."
