Keidys POV
I still lay in my bed, covered with a blanket and thinking what Steph is doing right now.
Her parents beat her, too, and we always tell each other how we were beaten.
When I was sure, that my parents were asleep I grabbed my phone and texted Steph.
K: Hi Steph! Do you mind if I call you now? My parents are asleep.
S: Okay! Mine are, too. But wait a moment. I have to turn the sound off.
K: Okay. Just call me when you're ready.
After a few seconds I saw a call coming in, so I pressed the green button.
"How are you?" I whispered.
"He hit me again... with his belt." she whispered back.
I could hear that she cried a few minutes before.
"How much does it hurt?" I asked pitying.
"I can't feel my right cheek. A-and my right arm is coloured in a deep purple. It hurts a-a lot"
"Steph don't cry ok? Don't cry or he will beat you again.
Just keep calm and think about the great times we had together yet.
Do you want me to pick you up tomorrow?"
"Yeah...please... but... can you wait at the coffeeshop down the street so my dad won't see you?" she asked but it doesn't sounded like she cried anymore.
"Sure. Meet you at 1pm?"
"Ok... thanks.
But Keidy?"
"yeah?"
"If I don't appear there, I was caught by my father. Run away because... you know... I always have to tell him where you are and he might tell your parents."
"O-okay. I'll watch out. And you too. Please! Good night."
"Night"
With that, I hung up and covered myself more with the blanket.
Oh please God let her arrive safely tomorrow.
I thought about Stephs and my future until I fell asleep.
2 more years until we're old enough, 18 years old, to move out together and and live our life without our parents.
