Nicole's POV
Years passed after I had met up with my old rival, Brendan.
And he was getting more flirty with me.
For example, he sat down next to me on the couch, his shirt off.
"Yeah?" I asked.
Brendan put his arm around me. "Whatcha doin'?"
"Um.. Reading my notifications.." I stuttered. I felt my cheeks going pink, and I stared at my screen, trying to avoid him.
Brendan tilted my chin up. "Why're you blushing?"
"N-No reason!" I squealed, staring him dead in the eye.
I know he likes me! I know he does!
"Brendan.. Do you like me?" I asked.
"Nah, not ready for a girlfriend." Brendan said. He seemed confident as ever. "But you've got a pretty smile."
He let out a low whistle and twirled my hair on his finger.
"Brendan, stop, that hurts." I said.
Brendan let go of my hair. "You're edgy."
"Why does everyone say that?" I asked.
"Because you are." Brendan said. "Very, very edgy."
"Shut up!" I squealed.
"Why are you talking like this?" Brendan raised his voice to make himself sound like me.
"No reason! Shut up, Brendan!" I spat.
Brendan flinched.
"S-Sorry." I murmured. I started to shiver.
"Is it cold in here?" Brendan asked. He pressed against me.
I jumped, feeling his body touch mine.
Brendan snapped me out of my thoughts. "Nicole? You look.. Moony."
"No, I don't!" I shrilled. "You look moony! Not me!"
"You sure?" Brendan pressed. His eyes glimmered with amusement.
"Well, you do!" I screeched.
"Calm your tits, girl, jeez." Brendan said.
I'm not moony! Maybe a little bit..
Brendan neared me. I blushed as he put his arm around me and kissed my cheek.
"A-Are we going to get.. like.. physical.. or something?" I whispered.
Brendan shook his head. "I'm not ready for a girlfriend."
"Yet." He added.
"Um.. Brendan.. I kinda like you." I said.
Brendan forced me to sit down. "Sit down."
I did as told. He sat down next to me, concern flickering in his eyes.
"Ever since Clemont left me, I was so alone.." I said.
Brendan kicked his sneakers off and laid down on my bed. "I kind of like you, too."
"Like a friend?"
"Um, yeah." Brendan said. He pulled me down and tickled my ribs.
"Hey! Stop it! That tickles, you jerk!" I screamed. I tickled his neck, making him scream and pull me down on top of him.
I blushed, stopped tickling him. "Brendan, please don't."
He got a flirty look in his eyes. "You're a filthy animal!"
"So are you!" I giggled uncomfortably and laid down on him.
"So, you two sexing it up in here?"
Brendan's sister, May, was standing in the doorway, her bluish eyes twinkling in amusement.
"No!" I exploded. "We were just-"
"May, go fuck yourself. Or go sex it up with your dreamy little bitch, Thunders." Brendan interrupted.
May left the room, snickering.
"We aren't gonna sex it up, right?" I asked.
"Of course not, what did you think?" Brendan asked.
"Um. N-Nothing. Just nothing." I stuttered. I started to tremble in embarrassment.
I let out a shriek as Brendan licked my cheek like a Swasire. "Nothing, eh?"
"Brendan, please don't." I started, but he'd pinned my head down on his chest.
"You think I give up that easily?" Brendan asked. He whisked the glasses off my face. "I don't give up! You know me, from when we were rivals back in Hoenn-"
"Are we still rivals?" I asked.
"Um.. That's a hard question." Brendan said. "We could call ourselves friends with benefits.."
"Okay, shut up." I said into his armpit. "Can you let go of me?"
Brendan released his grip on my head. I raised it and shook myself, trying to get my stupid hair right.
"Seriously, Brendan?" I muttered, punching him gently in the side.
Brendan stuck his nose in my hair. "Yep."
Then he sneezed and pulled back. "There's sand in your hair."
He sneezed again, making me fall off the bed.
I screamed as I hit the floor. "Ow!"
Brendan nervously looked over the bed. "Rival overboard," he joked.
"Was that necessary?" He's so arrogant!
Brendan shrugged. "Well, yeah."
"Motherfucking Bren-" I started.
"Don't even start." Brendan cut me off and took my hand. "Get up here."
I squeaked as he touched my hand.
"Are you gonna sit there all day or what?" Brendan asked. "Get up here!"
I leaped back onto the bed. "You're so arrogant."
"Am not!" Brendan protested.
"Stupid little motherfucker." I stole his hat.
"Hey! Give that back!" Brendan swiped at it, but failed miserably.
"No." I put it on my head and made a face at him.
Brendan growled and tackled me down again.
"Whoa, don't become a Poochyena on me!" I cried.
Brendan growled playfully. "Of course I won't. Not."
I felt myself slipping off the bed. "Brendan, I'm falling off the bed."
"Shit-" Brendan started, but we both fell off the bed on top of each other.
"Brendan, get off me!" I shrieked.
Brendan awkwardly got off me. "Sorry."
"Ooh, you're gonna pay for that!" I yelled, slamming into him. Brendan screamed as I hit him in the chest.
He hit the wall.
I felt squirmy sitting in his lap. Do I have a crush on him?
I can't! I only like him as a friend!
"Nicole, you're blushing," Brendan teased.
"Don't kill me for this, please.." I said. "I have a crush on you."
"Ew!" Brendan yelled. "Fangirl alert! May! Help!"
"No!" May yelled back.
Brendan stood up, but I clung onto his broad shoulders and stayed on him.
He shook me off.
"Brendan, admit it. You like me, too." I said.
"Nope." Brendan said. An evil glint came to his eyes. "I hate you so much I could throw you into space with Rayquaza."
"Don't be like that!" I said.
I could see fondness behind his evil gaze.
I jumped up and kissed him on the lips.
Brendan screamed in my mouth and fell onto the ground, surprised.
I let go of him.
"Boy, you're so paying for that." Brendan said. He pulled me down and tickled me again, making me scream and squirm away.
"I'm done! I surrender!" I screamed. "Don't do that!"
Brendan raised his eyebrows in triumph.
"Oh, don't look at me like that." I said.
Brendan narrowed his eyes. "If you think we're gonna be together forever and have kids together, you're talking to the wrong Trainer."
"But you're so sexy!"
"I'm not attractive!" Brendan protested.
"Oh, really?" I teased.
"Shut up, nerd." Brendan muttered. He stood up.
"Oh, come on, Brendan, be nice! We've been friends for.." I paused. "Forever, haven't we?"
"No, we're not friends, we're rivals." Brendan said.
"Stupid males, think they know everything." I stood up.
"Who're you calling a male? I'm.." Brendan trailed off.
"Ha! I got you lost!" I yelled.
"Fine.. We can be friends then." Brendan muttered. "Let's not make this weird."
