The next morning, the apartment was filled with silence. It had seemed that Jay either didn't come back last night or he came back alone. I didn't bother going into his room to check as I thought he would have been sleeping off his wild night if he had come back. I headed for the fridge to make breakfast and possibly create a new list of food shopping material I had to gather. I know it's unusual for a male student to do this on a Saturday morning but I preferred my Saturdays to be relaxed and my Sundays to be active since a Sunday's aura helped me to paint. And I needed to paint to keep up with the rest of my class.

For a change, I wanted a breakfast fry up. With the last few pieces of bacon and hash browns, I grabbed a frying pan and placed it on the cooker to begin. I had splattered some olive oil, waiting for it to sizzle before lightly placing the bacon in; the hash browns followed soon after.

"You know you can't sleep through the smell of a good fry up", Jay had walked in, bare skin on show with only his shorts to censor the hostile view.

"You alone?" I replied, placing the bacon onto two separate plates.

"Yeah, the girls didn't stay. They just made me pay for their taxi and food on the way back", he snorted as he took a seat by the breakfast bar, grabbing his plate.

"I'm going to go to the supermarket, do you want anything?"

"No my ugly wifey, just get whatever and I'll transfer you half". He replied whilst stuffing his mouth with bacon.

A scenic smile crept on my face as I forked a piece of bacon into my mouth. As much as Jay was a sleazy dude, he was a convenient and reliable roommate financially. He was always on time with the money for the rent, the bills and anything else that cost. Though I was the one that dealt with everything, it was good to know I didn't have to worry about someone not paying their part.

Ten minutes later, I grabbed my wallet and placed it in my back pocket. I left the plate on the counter as I looked at him.

"Right, I'm off, Can I rely on you to wash all this up?"

Jay threw me a salute and I nodded, heading to leave the building.

I was lucky enough with the convenience of having the supermarkets and retail stores walks away from where I lived. A ten minute walk allowed me to approach Kesco, one of the larger food stores in the area. Though with my pace, it was ten minutes but at an average I would say 15minutes.

The automatic transparent doors slid open allowing me to enter with a warm welcome heat from the inside. I grabbed a mini trolley that awaited my grip and pushed it further indoors as I headed for the first isle – Fresh fruits and vegetables. Looking around and grabbing items that looked appealing, I had always tried to do a good food shop to last 2 weeks at the very least which allowed me to have a Saturday available every other weekend. Both Jay and I didn't eat meals often at the apartment but we snacked a lot. Most of my snacks I kept in my room as he frequently had friends round.

I walked around the store, isle by isle seeing if there was anything more I could grab to purchase. I was half way through the store and coming up was the pop & drinks isle. I enjoyed a good cold drink and I was shamelessly into fizzy drinks. As I was ready to steer my trolley into the isle, my eyes had locked onto the woman who was picking out one of my favourite bottles of cherry flavoured pop. I watched her place the 2 litre bottle into her trolley, pushing it closer to myself. Her eyes hadn't noticed mine as quick as I had noticed her. They were low to begin but they rose as she got closer, locking them onto my mine. It had almost seemed they beamed as she looked my way or was I just hoping for this?
