Dave was seated on top of Alex's desk, while Sabrina and Ruby were sprawled out across the girl's bed. The actress was nowhere near them having gone downstairs to announce to her mother that she had another friend over in addition to the two siblings. Ruby and Sabrina were supposably staying at a hotel nearby, but they had crashed at the Rob's house the previous night and it seemed like they would be staying another night as well. Not that it bothered Alex's family — they loved the two girls like their own.
"So tell me, Dave Franco." Sabrina propped her head up on her hand while her sister continued to stare blankly at her phone. "What intentions to you have towards my friend?"
Dave smiled slightly, putting away his own phone. "What do you mean?"
"I mean" — Sabrina's eyes lit up and she grinned — "when are you going to ask her out?"
"What? No, no." The actor waved it off. "I'm not going to ask her out. I don't like her in that way."
"Dude you act like it isn't obvious." Ruby stated lazily, her eyes never leaving the screen in front of her. "You're still madly in love with Alex and she's still madly in love with you."
Dave thought about it for a moment, the smile on his face widening. He realized that the younger girl was right — he was still in love with Alex. Even the mere thought of her made him smile and seeing her in pain was heart breaking. Dave always wanted to the best for his friends, but Alex was not his friend. She was his person.
"What are you all talking about?" Alex poked her head into the room.
"Nothing." Dave stated, the small smile still evident on his face. Alex raised an eyebrow, smiling as well, before walking over to her bed. She sat down, laying back and holding her phone above her face as she went through Twitter.
Sabrina raised her eyebrows at Dave before saying, "Actually, we were talking about you."
Alex stopped scrolling and lifted her head. "What about me?"
She sat up, staring at her friend.
"About how you still like Dave, and Dave still likes you."
