Jake's Pov

Graduation. This was the end of my horrific high school career. No matter how many times I've claimed I've wanted to get out of this hell whole, truth is, I would miss everyone.

I would miss the stupid cliched "groups". I would miss my teachers who told me I could do it when I felt like I couldn't. Most of all I would miss my friends. Brooke especially.

Her long blonde hair flowed down past her shoulders to her waist and her green eyes held the world.

"Jake!" Brooke called out while getting out of her car, followed by her parents and little brother, plus sister.

The petite girl flung her body towards me, wrapping her arms around my neck.

"Ready?" I whispered into her shoulder.

"More than ever."

It may have sounded stupid, but Brooke could not wait to get out of this small ass town. She wanted to travel and go to big cities. She didn't really get her dream by going to Alberta, but it's what she wanted.

Brooke and I walked hand-in-hand into our school to the auditorium where we would be handed our gowns for the occasion.

"How's your head?" I asked while putting my hand on her back to guide her to the front of the stage.

"Better, yours?" B looked up at me with those big green eyes and my stomach did flips.

"Better." I smiled and moved a piece of her curled hair out of her face.

We both got handed caps and gowns before going down the opposite steps to get them on.

I pulled the robe on over my polo and the red didn't go very well with the blue of the shirt. I sighed and buckled the buttons, my palms sweating immensely.

"Are you nervous?" She asked while trying to put the hat on her head.

"A little," I took the cap she was trying to put on and held it between my fingers. Brooke looked up at me and pulled the pink flesh of her bottom lip between her teeth.

I put the hat back on the top of her head, correctly. The curls of her hair flowing out beneath it.

"Thank you," she whispered and looked down at her strappy sandals.

I nodded and brought my fingers up to tuck under her chin. My pointer finger and thumb, guiding her head upwards, toward me.

I closed my eyes and brought my lips down to lay a kiss on her perfect, soft, pink, lips.

Maybe, it's because this time she wasn't drunk, or maybe it was the jitters of graduating, but that was the best damned kiss I've ever been apart of.
