Julian's P. O. V
" Cameron, get your ass out of that bed" I shout from the kitchen " I swear I'm going to drag you out of your room if I have to "
" It's Monday,who in their right mind would be awake by six am on Monday? " Cameron asked as he stumbled into the kitchen
" I don't know. Maybe people who have jobs to do or students who have schools to go to " I replied his dumb question " You need to get dressed or you'll be late for school. I don't need your principal explaining to me how to be a good guardian to my brother. "
" Yeah that was the longest 30 minuets of my life" he said. The discussion about an hour but he wouldn't know this since he spent half of it on his phone.
" Just get dressed, breakfast would be ready when you're done" I said while flipping the pancake in the pan.
Taking care of a ten year old boy who thinks rebellion is cool is harder than I thought. It's the same thing every day. Cameron doesn't want to go to school so he pretends to be sick. One time he told me he had ebola just so he couldn't go to school. Don't get me wrong I understand that school is a terrible place for pre teens but Cameron use to love school when my parents were still alive
" Jesus Christ Julian the pancake is burning" Cam screeched pulling me out of my thought
"Oh shit,not again. " I screamed turning off the cooker. Suddenly Cam started laughing, probably remembering the first, second and third times I've burnt something while cooking.
" That was awesome. You should've seen your face " he said while chuckling. " I guess I'm not eating this morning "
" You can eat the good bach" I said he was about to complain about me not eating " I'll get something on the way to work"
Today I start working at Stone publishing company. Even the name of the company sounds so dull. As long as no one gets in my face and I keep my complaints to myself I think I'll be fine. I have to remember that I'm doing this for Cameron. I'm twenty-one and I've already switched jobs five times, I can't afford to do that anymore, maybe I just need to grow up and stop getting irritated easily. But I know that's not going to happen anytime soon.
"You're over thinking again Jules" Cameron commented " You'll look older than you are if you don't relax "
Sighing before taking my coffee mug and filling it with coffee " I'm just really tired and I'm just not in the mood to start this new job to be honest".
" You've never had problems with your jobs before. " he was right
" why are you fussing about this one? "
" it's just different. I don't know, I'm just really terrible with jobs but I want this one to work we need the money. I don't want to mess this one up like I usually do"
He snorted " I give you one month you'll be sticking your nose in papers looking for a new job" He chucked " I think you should just calm down and don't have a heart attack I don't want to lose another family member "
My eyes darted up to his face. I hate when he talks like I'm about to die. I understand that I'm his only family but negativity won't get him anywhere. After our parents death we've been depending on one another but still I don't plan on leaving him yet.
" You'll have to say with Jane after school today" I quickly changed the topic " I might get back late "
" You mean Jane and her weird brother? Jane's cool but Logan is not. I can't have people thinking we hang out together " he whines
" Stop being dramatic. They live down the hall. I Can't leave you alone here, we both know what happened the last time" rolling my eyes when I heard him reply with a soft 'fine'.
"Okay, so I'll drop you at school, you'll come one with Jane. Settled? " I asked just to be sure.
" Yeah, I guess so " He replied dully. He's trying to make me change my mind and its not going to happen.
" Grab your stuff, let's go. I don't want to be late for my new job" I said
" Okay, I'm done "
In less than an hour I'll start my new job and this time I'm planning on keeping this job, no matter what happens I won't quit or get myself fired.
This should be interesting and fucking stressful.
