- Arabella's P.O.V. -
I'm currently sitting at the cutest cafe in Versilia, Italy. It's absolutely beautiful here, I love it already. I can't wait to tour the city further but I have other pressing matters to take care of first. First things first, getting money. In order to earn money I will need a job, so job hunting is first then!
While I'm here, I might as well see if they're hiring.
I walk up to the counter drink in hand and ask, "Hello! Are you guys hiring?"
The man behind the counter looks me up and down saying, "For you doll? 'Course."
Immediately I regret asking seeing as this guy appears to be a complete an utter creep. "Um, nevermind. Do you know where I could purchase a newspaper?" I ask him timidly, silently hoping for an appropriate response.
"Sure thing sweet-cheeks." He reaches under the counter and pulls out a paper and pen, scribbling down something.
I instantly think it's his number until I see what he's writing: 1506 Rimini Lane.
"This is a shop a few blocks from here where you can purchase one, hon." He slides the paper towards me brushing my fingers with his.
I smile at him for helping me, "Thank you so much, I really appreciate this."
He replies with a wink and I scurry out of the cafe, obviously frightened by his vulgar and predatory behavior. Pulling out my phone I type the address he gave me into Google maps and let it lead me to the shop.About 5 minutes later I'm standing in front of a cute little corner shop. Pleased that Google maps, for once, did it's job and got me to the destination I was meant to go. Walking into the store I look left and see the little machine that gives out free newspapers. Smiling to myself I grab one and flip to the job section. Running my finger across the page, one particular job offer catches my eye.
Bastiella House Maid;
'This looks interesting' I think to myself.
In return for your services you will receive free board and food.
7934 Modena Avenue.
Pulling up my Google maps I see the house is far from where I am. Pulling my wallet out of my duffel bag I see I have enough for a cab ride to the house. Calling the taxi service I looked up on my phone, I order a cab to come to my current location.
I walk outside and wait for my cab to come, I hope they let me have this job. How hard could it be?
- 2 hours later -
I watch the man, who introduced himself as Mr. Bethal, shove a piece of gum in his mouth and start chewing quite loudly. Gosh, I can't stand when people do that. He told me he was head of security, which I can see why he got that job. He look's like he jumped straight out of the gang banging business. I shiver involuntarily at the thought. He just finished asking a series of different and unique questions. Not to toot my own horn but, I'm probably the most ideal candidate for this job.
I cough to get his attention, "If I may say sir, I think I would be a great fit for this job. I won't slack off, I'll do my best and more. I just really need somewhere to live. I'm in quite a odd predicament."
"Yeah?" he asks, "What might this 'predicament' be?" He glares at me, probably not believing that I'm not doing anything illegal.
"Well, uhh.." I quickly try to come up with some lie that won't sound to crazy, "I'm running away from a crazy ex." Really? I've never even had a boyfriend. Oh my gosh, I am a complete and utter idiot.
"I see." He glares at his desk for a minute, contemplating his options. "Well seeing as you and some crackhead are the only two who showed up for the job, it's yours Miss. Jennings."
I smile proudly, "Thank you so much, I promise you won't regret your decision."
"Yeah I hope not. Well signorina, welcome to where you'll be staying for the time you work for the Batistella household." He smirks proudly.
