Chapter 4~

I left my suitcase in my closet not even half full yet. I decided to turn on the television and flipped through the channels to get to the news.

"Severe tornado warnings for upper California state." I looked out the window and pulled my curtains out of the way noticing that it was very stormy. I looked at a light pole. a boy stood in the light, his back towards the street and face towards my house. he was too far, I felt a cold shiver go up my spine and I felt my eyes burning with tears. I looked away trying to get that boy out of my mind. why would he be outside In a storm like this. my phone buzzed, a random number was calling me. I didn't reach for it until it almost went to voicemail.

"hello?" I said shyly. "hello is grace there?"

"speaking." I heard a soft sound in the background. it sounded like he was breathing into the phone. "who is this." no answer. it was quiet for a bit. "who do you think?" I laughed sarcastically and annoyed. "if I knew I wouldn't be asking." he didn't respond. "I'm standing outside." I ran to the window seeing him still there. "come outside."

"no." he laughed. "didn't someone tell you that you should keep your enemy's closer?" I didn't respond. "right that would be Jonathan." I kept looking at him as I talked. "how did you know." he laughed. "because why would he say that if he wasn't talking about himself." I didn't respond. "Jhance." I heard him laugh again. "why yes finally you got it right." I felt anger strike through me. "I will kill you." he laughed. "come out." I hung up. he didn't leave. I ran to my closet pulling on my rain boots and buttoning my raincoat. I ran out of my room and down the main stair case, and out the doors. "gracie." I saw jhance. "stop." I went to him and slapped him. "listen you need to get out of that house." I laughed and said nothing for a little bit. he was being serious. "they are safe your not!" I turned away from him. he grabbed me by the hand and I felt a shock. we let go backing away. "what was that?" he shrugged. "I don't know.." he whispered looking at his arm. a vine looking tattoo was crawling up his arm and stopped, he grabbed his arm and started to scream. all of a sudden he was laying on the ground, silent. all I could hear was breaths from him. the rain fell harder. I knelt down next to him. the rain soaked my clothing. "Jhance?" I said quietly. he made no sound. why was I talking to him? just kill him! now! Gracie open your eyes, this is a killer. kill him it's your chance. I shut my mind out. for some odd reason I felt a small warm spot in my heart and in my stomach. I laid next to him, staring at his wet face. "gracie?" I heard him croak out. "yes." he swallowed loudly. i felt his lips touch mine gently. a spark of electricity shocked my body and I felt limp, and weak. my back hit the cold wet cement. and all I heard was Jhance calling my name, which then faded into a ringing noise.
