"Three weeks tell school is out Katie" Shells said bouncing up and down. Katie chuckled at her friends ethusium for summer. "I know" Katie began letting a car pass "I already have a summer job in mind Shell"

They we're leaving the school parking lot of Saint John High School. Katie and Shell walked home everyday after school since they lived on the same street. "Ewww a job" Shell said raising her eyebrows "it's not even summer yet and your thinking if a job" Katie laughed glancing at the sun for a second.

Shell grabbed her wavy blond hair and threw it into a pony tail. Shell's blue eyes lit up with excitement while Katie's brown eyes looked tired. "What do you do for fun then" Shell asked jumping over a crack in the cement. "I read a book and I'll draw. You know that" Katie said jumping over the next crack.

"Gross" Shell teased tucking in her shirt that was coming loose. "We need to have fun this summer Katie" Shell laughed. Katie nodded making her dark straight brown gang fall into her eyes. "What type of fun Shell" Katie ask jumping over the next crack by a stop sign.

This was a daily routine that Katie and Shell did after school together. Jumping over cracks in the cement was a tradition they made up one year in fifth grade. If you accidently jumped on a crack you had to tell a secret. "I see a lot of beach parties in your future Mrs. Richards" Shell joked

Katie shook her head a smile on her face. "No partying for me" Shell pouted but accidently fell in the next crack in the sidewalk. "Tell a secret" Katie said to her. Shell closed her eyes for a second then smiled. "One time at your house I was mad at you for taking the last brownie so I put a small lady bug in your hair when you were sleeping"

Katie gasped her jaw dropping. "You did what" Katie asked shocked. "I didn't mean to but you ate the last brownie so you bought it on your self. Katie smiled and replied "And you know what that brownie was delicious to"

Shell laughed and watched Katie jump over the next crack. "So I'll see you tomorrow right" Shell asked her pick backpack sending an array of light from the sparkles onto the ground . Katie nodded and told her she would.

Shell have her a hug and ran across the street to her house. Katie shook her head as a sigh escaped from her lips. "Thank God for Friday's" Katie whispered. Katie ran up the porch steps her key already out to unlock the door.
