The band was in Dallas, Texas preparing for their show that night at the The American Airlines Center. Kevin had been on edge the moment they arrived, tonight was the night; Tonight on a stage in front of Thousands of fans, friends, and family Kevin would ask Mitch to be his husband. With the support of the crew especially Esther behind him, He'd came up with the plan to invite all of Mitch's Family and close friends out to the show under the facade of it being a show close to home in Texas but everyone new the real reason, all but Mitch that is. Kevin even flew his own Parents out to witness the occasion, In fact all of the Pentaparents were there in support.
Kevin stood off to the side near the clothing racks, staring nervously at the jacket that would soon hold the Ring of his future husband. Avi stood on the opposite end of the room and watched as his best friend swayed back and forth, Deciding to put the man out of his misery he approached him.
Grabbing his shoulders to shake him "Kev! Man you're drawing attention to yourself, what if Mitch was in here he'd be all over you with questions. Chill out!" Avi moves to grab his face in between his palms next making Kevin look him in the eye.
"Breathe" Both men sigh in relief when he noticeably begins to calm himself taking slow deep breaths.
"Avi, Dude I'm freaking out; I don't think I can do it" Kevin confesses. Avi shakes his head and pulls the man towards the furthest wall out of ear shot of the crew in the room.
"Hell of a time to want to back out, All of his family and friends are here to witness this; Don't you dare back down now" He paces a bit in the small space. "You know I love you man, But Mitch is my friend too; so I want what's best for the both of you and believe me when I say he will not deny you tonight"
"I know, I know; Everyone keeps telling me that but it doesn't change the fact that I'm scared out of my mind" Gripping his hair he continues "I just want everything to go right, to be perfect for him" He explains.
At that moment Mitch, Scott, and Kirstie enter the room. Mitch scans the room looking for Kevin, only to see him locked in what looked like a deep conversation with Avi. Both men heads were close together as they talked, Intrigued he makes his way towards the pair.
Walking up Mitch wraps his arms around Kevin from the back startling both men "What are you Queens gossiping about?" He asks innocently as Kevin spins to stare at him wide eyed.
Sputtering Kevin quickly answers "Nothing much really, Avi is just helping me get over some last minute nerves before the show starts; nothing out of the ordinary or strange" He stutters.
Mitch rears back to squint his eyes at him "Nerves? Really, How many shows have we done by now and you want me to believe that you are nervous" Placing a hand on his hip he waits for and explanation or the truth.
"Nah, seriously I think I'm freaking out because this is one of the few shows where all of our family is here. I just want everything to go smoothly" Kevin lies easily, well technically it's not really a lie. Reaching out his grabs the hand Mitch has on his hip to pull the smaller man into his arms.
"But now that you're here, I'm beginning to feel a little better" He tells him while placing small kisses all over the mans face as he laughs trying to escape the attack. Avi takes that time to sneak off before Mitch turns to him for answers.
"Stop it you're going to mess up my makeup, If you want a kiss do it the right way" Mitch laughs smacking Kevin in the chest.
"I can definitely do that" He responds by placing a gentle but meaningful kiss on his lips, both men moan softly into the kiss; Mitch bring his arms up to place on Kevin's shoulders, deepening the kiss as he does so.
Kevin places his arms on the waist of Mitch to gently separate them.
"Now you know if we don't stop now Esther will come over here with her spray bottle like she did the last time" he laughs remembering vividly the day it happened.
"I know, I just missed you and needed a little loving" Mitch pouts giving his boyfriends one last kiss. "You sure you're okay now? You have no reason to worry though seeing as you kill every performance" He tries to reassure him.
"Yeah I promise, I'm good now between you and Avi I know I have nothing to worry about. Kevin responds.
"15 mins guys, We need to start heading to the stage NOW!!!" Esther yells as she walks into the room. Everyone begins to rush around handling last minute things as the room slowly empties.
"I'll meet you out there I need to grab something really quick" Kevin tells Mitch as he kisses his forehead. Mitch nods and exits the room with Scott who turns to give Kevin a goofy smile and thumbs up.
Well here goes nothing Kevin thinks to himself as he grabs His Cello case to retrieve the engagement box.
