"That one looks amazing!" Riley admired with the same enthusiasm as the first dress.

I smiled,"zip me up,"i instructed mangaing to spin round in the tiny cubicle. I had to admit I did look pretty good in this dress. It was scarlett red and hugged my waist perfectly with a pleated, puffy-out skirting. It was shaped around my chest and had straps reaching round my pale shoulders.

He pulled up the zip slowly, careful not to make it stick,"Alice. I am going to be honest: If I didnt know you, I would be all over you in this dress!"

"Urm... thanks, I think..."

"You know what i mean! Get this one, its on sale and everything! Plus your body shape isn't exactly common so it will be put to waste for anyone else." I knew what he meant by not common: skinny without curves.

I nodded,"Right now for shoes!" I slid out of the dress and passed it to Riley to put on the hanger. i tugged on my jeans and pulled on Riley's old t-shirt i had borrowed after spilling juice down my own that morning. I picked up the rest of my new editions to the wardrobe and pulled the curtain. Standing at the exit was Luke... with Lottie! "I didn't know they were together," I whispered to Riley, who shrugged. We walked towards them knowing they had noticed us. "Hey!" I grinned at Lottie who immediatley wrapped her arm round my neck. I had known her since we started high school and i was her agony aunt, and she was mine.

"Nice T-shirt," she laughed.

"Its mine!" Riley butt in, "'Cause she spilled juice all down hers this morning!"

"Thanks for that." I blushed. Just another disadvantage of having pale skin: it meant I could hide no emotion.

"I didnt know you were together," Lukes voice made me jump. I had forgotten he was there... almost.

"What? Oh, urm, no we aren't together." I stuttered.

"No. Ew. Me with her. We are just mates. Well, she is my best mate, but together? No way! I mean..." I elbowed him in the ribs to shut him up.

"Oh sorry! Just thought, because you were in the same dressing room..." replied Lottie.

"Nah, he's my Gok Wan!" I smiled, "But we were saying the same thing about you two."

Luke suddenly looked alarmed, "No no, we arent together. I waiting for my mum, she is getting married and she is trying on a dress, I am waiting for her to come out."

"And I was just coming out, when I recognised him," Lottie finished.

"Well, we need to go find shoes," said Riley rolling his eyes.

I smiled,"Well, see you guys later!" I managed to bid my farewells while Riley took my hand and dragged me to the shoe section. He steered me towards the red heels that were on the shelf.

He picked up a pair, "You like?"

"I do!" I searched for a size 3. I hated my small feet, suprised they can balance me. When i finally got some, I slipped them on my feet. I stood up and walked around a bit an had gained a few more inches and was now just under Rileys height. He grinned and took my hands and spun me round and rocked me side to side. Typical. Here I was in a posh shop with mardy staff in gorgeous heels, a huge t-shirt and jeans, dancing with my best friend.

After buying the dress and the shoes we went into Maccy D's to eat. Riley paid, because he is such a gentleman. He passed me my chicken nugget happy meal and some tomato ketchup which he knows I love and we sat down at the bar stools near the window. He took one of his chips then dipped it in the ketchup, then he just looked at it and fed it back to me. We ending up feeding eachother chips, that was before he got ketchup all over my nose and then it turned into a food fight. We later got kicked out.

On the bus Riley decided to dedicate his time to texting Emma which was annoying because now i had no-one to talk to. Instead i checked through my shopping bags looking at all of my new clothes, deciding what i would wear them to, and what with and then i spotted a piece of torn paper in the bad with the red dress. I picked it up, it read 'Hey, call me sometime, Luke' with his number underneath. I dialled it in, he picked up after 2 rings, "Hello?"

"I always thought it was the guy who was meant to call the girl," I replied, surprised how confident my tone was.

"I thought you were one for breaking traditions," I had to grin, "I can hear you smiling from here." I frowned, looking round and found a face smiling.

"Stalker," I said, and hung up. Leaving Riley who was in a deep and meaningful conversation, I stood up and walked towards the empty seat next to Luke. I sat down casually and looked at him.

"Hey." His voice made me drown in the sound.

"Hows your mum? Did she find her dress?"

"Yeah, she looked beautiful, like royalty..." I smiled. That was kinda sweet. "I didn't tell her that though, too much of a waste."

I frowned,"What do you mean?"

He stared wide eyed at me, "Story for another day, I guess." I gave a weak smile, obviously not close enough for family stories yet..."So, who is the pretty dress for?

"What?" I didn't understand.

"The one in the shop? Who you tryn'a impress?"

"Oh no-one, just trying to show someone what they are missing"

"An ex?" Luke asked, intrigued.

"Yeah something like that"

The bus stopped in my town, "My stop," I stood up. I called Riley to get off the bus, he shook his head, he was going to his grans. I rolled my eyes and stepped off the bus only to hear someone had gotten off with me. I spun round to see Luke standing there.

"Mine too." I smiled, I knew he lived 3 villages away, but I wasn't going to say that. We walked and we talked about his old school, the weather and things of the similar effect until we reached my door. He hugged me close and whispered, "Maybe after that guy has realised what he is missing, you will realise how you are way too good for him." I pulled away and looked at him. I shook my head.

" You have no idea." I replied and wandered up my drive. I pushed open the door and turned to wave goodbye, but he had already gone.
