Prologue: warning this is unedited!

My name is Grace Rose Nelson and this is the story of how it all went wrong.

August 28th was the first day of the rest of my life. It was time to start my Junior year of High school, and I was more than just excited. Not even the fact that my big brother Johnny also went to my school could bring me down.

I woke up early that morning and rushed to get dressed in the outfit I had spent three hours picking out the night before. By the time I was finished getting ready, my stupid brother still hadn't even gotten up yet. Maybe I should have expected it, but I hadn't really.

I decided to just pour a bucket of water on him and run out before I could get caught. But, after pouring the buckets contents on my unsuspecting brother, I made the mistake of putting the bucket on the ground, and in my haste of running away, tripped over the darn thing and thus falling flat on my face.

Johnny got up and started laughing at me. "Good job, Gracie, really Bravo!" he snickered once more before leaving to get himself ready.

I huffed as I pushed myself up off the floor. This day was not going the way I thought it would, not at all.

...

When we got to school, Johnny ditches me for his equally strange friends so I went on a search to find my own, more normal friends. I saw my friend Leah by the Cafeteria and ran over to say hi.

"Leah! I missed you!!!" I exclaimed loudly as I pulled her into a hug.

Leah giggled before hugging me back. "Gracie! It's been two days since we last saw each other!"

"That's completely besides the point.." I said dramatically as I shook my head side to side. "I could have changed quite a bit in those long 48 hours that have gone by."

Leah snorted and patted my back before letting go of me. "Whatever you day my dear Grace. Anyways, what do you say we go to home room now?"

I smiled. "Yes! Let's go see the new people this year!" I grabbed her hand and pulled her along the hall to our home room.

"Room 202, Mrs. Greene!" Leah said as we entered. I snorted and rolled my eyes at my friends quirky habits. It wasn't like my own weren't quirky but I'd like to say they aren't nearly on the same level as Leah's.

We took our seats in the middle of the room and turned our attention to the door so that we could watch each and every person who entered the room.

As each person entered, I got less and less amused. Why were there no new cute boys? Okay, I must admit, I might be a tad bit boy crazy, but only a little!

Mrs. Greene, our home room teacher, started to take attendance and as she finished, a boy walked into the classroom with a pink slip of paper. "Sorry miss, I got lost in this big school!" He exclaimed.

I gasped at his low, husky voice and his very attractive looks, with brown, wavy hair and big blue eyes, he was in a way, rather beautiful. He must be new, for I would have remembered someone so beautiful.

Mrs. Greene took the slip of paper from the boy and nodded to herself as she read the note. "Okay thank you, Mr. Clark."

She clapped her hands together to get the rest of the classes' attention and smiled.  "Class, this is Thomas Clark, he is new to South Stone and he will be in our homeroom from now on. Mr. Clark, you can sit over there, next to Miss Nelson." She pointed in my direction and I started screaming inisde my head as he walked over and sat down next to me.

Within two minutes of siyying down, he had turned to me and smiled.. "Hi, I'm Thomas but I prefer being called Tommy." He put his hand out for me to shake.

I nervously took his hand and shook it as I said "Hi, I'm Grace but most people call me Gracie." I blushed as I pulled my hand away from his.

He smirked. "Nice to meet you Gracie. Maybe we'll have some classes together." He winked and turned to face forward.

I felt my face flush bright red and when i turned to talk to Leah, I saw that she too, had been smirking at me.

"What?" I asked quickly as I covered my very red face.

She laughed. "Oh nothing, but uh Tommy huh?"

I groaned. "Let's talk about this later okay?"

"Sure, sure Gracie...."  Leah snickered as I groaned again.

The bell rang a moment later and I couldn't be gladder, as the old cliche saying goes, "Saved by the Bell", I truly was.

...

It turned out that I had four classes with Tommy; English, Calculus, Art and Music. I couldn't tell whether this was a good thing or not as everythime I turned to look at him, he would catch my eye and smile at me. At least he wasn't too cocky and winking at me as well

I didn't have any clue whart I was getting myself into at the time, but this is when it all started and maybe I can't tell it perfectly but this is my story and it all started Once Upon a ROSE...
