You were walking hurriedly down the busy streets of Boston on a Sunday morning, trying to identify streets. But alsa, everything was so darned confusing and unfamiliar!
You had just moved here from New York City and nothing looked right. You had started a new job in an office about three days ago and this was your second time being late.
If things didn't start looking up for you this morning, you were going to be truely, desperately, disastrously late today. You looked side to side, trying to find your street.
You decided maybe you had passed it again. Cluching the many papers and folders you were carrying to your chest a little tighter, you turned around and took off at a bit of a sprint.
You were completely not paying attention to what was ahead of you when you ran into something hard and firm. The papers you were carrying went flying in all directions and scattered all across the ground. You fell backword, falling on your ass.
"Shit!" You exclaimed, looking up to see what you ran into. Two men of similar hight and build stood before you. One of them was supporting the other one so he didn't fall, supposedly the one you ran into.
"I'm so sorry!" You burst out panicly, getting onto your knees and fumbling clumsily with all your spilled papers. "I'm just running so late and its only my fourth day on he job and I've been late twice already and I don't know where the hell I'm going in this fucking city and I'm going to be fired if I can't get my shit togeth-" you rambled on, only loosing the grip you had on the paperwork once again.
Both of them got to their knees. One starting steadily collecting your files and such back together and the other cut you off with a, "'ey 'ey 'ey! Slow down, Lass." And took your trembling hands firmly in his.
His hands were warm and soft and gentle and definitely had a calming effect.
You looked up to meet the piercing blue eyes that stared into yours. Taking a deep breath and closing your eyes for a second to ground yourself, you said, "t-thanks....I'm really sorry about this."
He smiled a little bit and replied in his thick Irish accent, "don't be. Now, tell me where yer headed and I'll help ya find yer way."
You breathed a small sigh of relief at having found a savoir and told him where you were supposed to be heading."Oh dear, ya've really lost yer way, haven't ya? I'm Murphy, by tha way." He laughed a little and you all got to your feet. The other man handed you all your files back neatly.
"Connor, why don't ya go on ahead? I'll meet ya there, Imma show this lass where ta go." Murphy said, turning to his brother. Connor nodded and said, "just don't be to long, Murph." Murphy agreed and took you by your free hand.
"Oh I really really really appreciate this! I'm so dead, but at least I might still have a job! Oh I'm Y/n by the way." You said, incredibly relieved and feeling like this man was some kind of angel.
"It's my pleasure. When ya supposed to show up?" Murphy asked, leading you by the hand in the proper direction. "Like ten minutes ago..." you sighed. He laughed and said, "then we best pick up the pase!"
You both jogged down the streets at a pase virging on a full out run. "I know a shortcut but it's kinda in'a ugly part of tow-" you cut him off with a, "yes please!"
He lead you to a dingy looking allyway and you started to have second thoughts about whether it was really a good idea to let a stranger lead you down an ally.
Murphy pulled you a little closer to his side and said, "we don't have to, but it'll be much faster." You took a breath and decided to trust him. You really didn't want to be fired.
You ran through the ally and back out into another street. Now this street looked familiar. "Oh! I know where this is! The office is just around the corner!" You exclaimed. Murphy asked, "ya know yer way from here?"
You nodded. Suddenly you were stuck by the fact that you didn't want him to leave just yet... "maybe...if it's not to much trouble...You could walk with me the rest of the way? So I don't get lost again?" You asked hesitantly.
Murphy smiled and his hand closed over yours again. "Absolutely." He grinned, taking off in the direction of your workplace.
When you got there, you turned around to thank him. "I'm so greatful for this...thank you."
"If ya like," said Murphy. "I can show ya 'round a bit tomorrow."
Suprised by how much you like the sound of that, you nodded, biting your bottom lip and handing him your phone number. You did need someone to show you around anyhow...Work that day went by to slowly. You ended up only being 15 minutes late, which was excusable. You thought about Murphy until it hit five and you could go home.
You walked to your apartment in peace. Tomorrow was Monday, so you got the day off. You worked weird days. You awoke early next morning by the ring of your phone.
It was Murphy. You didn't even have time to worry about whether or not he would call you, which was very nice. You set up a little date to walk around town today.
You gave him directions to your apartment so you didn't get lost trying to find the place you were supposed to meet at. He showed up 12 and knocked on your door. You had just gotton out of the shower and were in nothing but a towel.
Huffing and rolling your eyes at the fact that you really needed to get your shit together, you marched to the door and opened it with a blurted explanation.
"Sorry! Come in, wait in the living room I need to get dressed!" You said. He smiled and his cheeks lite up slightly. You dashed off to your bedroom to get changed and he came in and took a seat on your couch.
You slipped into a t-shirt and jeans and made a reapearence, face slightly flushed. "All set?" Murphy asked, getting up. "Yes, yes. Sorry about that..." you said, running a hand through your wet hair. He chuckled softly and said, "don't worry about it."
You left your apartment and came out into the crowded street. Instinctively, Murphy put his arm over your shoulders so you didn't get separated and pulled you into his side.
Once he realized what he had just done, you let you go and said, "oh, sorry!" To which you said you didn't mind. You took his arm and draped it back over your shoulders. He laughed softly and you two began walking.
He took you all around town, just wandering. He pointed out things to help you remember the streets and little things he had mentally marked down and then he turned and asked you, "would you like to go to a stop me and brother go often?"
You nodded eagerly and replied, "yes!" So he lead you off in the direction of the bridge. Once you got there, you leaned on the railing, over the edge, looking out onto the water and breathing deeply of the fresh air.
He leaned against the railing as well and hesitantly put his arm around your waist. You moved closer into his side, smiling and being greatful you had gotton lost yesterday.
Without really thinking, you turned in his embrace so you were facing him and your lips landed on his. He responded instantly and hands moved to the nape of your back, pulling your body close to his.
His lips were soft and gentle and your stomach flipped backwords. This was obviously not new territory for him. His tongue slid across your bottom lip and you granted entry. He definitely knew how to use his tongue. Once you pulled away for air he laughed a little and said, "I'm really glad ya lost yer way."
You smiled and nodded. "Me too."
Hope you like it!! Tell me what you think guys!!
