Chapter one: Newbie

Rainbow Dash's POV

I pulled ahead of an older car and parked my bike where they were pulling out. Ahead of me stood my new apartment building. There were a couple fake palm trees leading to the door. I walked through them into the lobby. There was a bored looking man at the desk. As I approached, I saw him take in my clothes and hair. His ugly little mouth turned into a sneer.

''May I help you, uh, Miss?'' 

''Yeah. I'm Rainbow Dash. I'm supposed to move here. I stopped by a week or so ago. I just need my mailbox key and then I'll be out of your hair.'' I leaned over to look him in the eye. His mouth, if possible, turned into an even bigger frown.

''Yes of course. One moment.'' He reached under the counter and handed me my key.

''Thanks,'' I took a peek at his name tag, ''Jeffryson.''

He nodded and pointed me to the elevators. I hefted my guitar case in my hand and started towards the elevator. 

Time skip to school the next morning

I pulled into Canterlot High School and parked my bike as far from the building as possible. I didn't need someone screwing with my bike when I had no other way home. Beside me, an old pickup truck pulled up. The driver was a tall guy with dirty blond hair. His face was relaxed and he seemed pretty mellow when he looked at my hair.

''Hey. Do you go to school here?'' Other people were getting out of the truck and coming over.

''E-yup.'' He opened his door, careful not to hit me or my bike. Two girls came around the truck. The older one was around my age with long blond hair and sun-kissed skin. From the way her plaid orange shirt fit her I could see strong shoulders. On her head was a worn cowboy's hat.

''Howdy. Don't ya'll mind Big Mac here, he don't say much, right Mac?'' She nudged her brother  and he answered with another E-yup. 

''Applejack, don't ferget ta take yur hat off. Don't need you gettin' in trouble again with VP Luna.''

The younger girl had red hair and a large pink bow atop her head. She seemed to see someone she knew and began to move out of the half circle they had formed. Just as she was about to run out in to the parking lot, I saw a car come zipping towards her. Without thinking I grabbed her collar and pulled her back just seconds from getting hit.
"Oh golly! Applebloom are you OK? How many times have I told you to be careful? Why, if it weren't for, uh, Rainbow here you coulda been hit!"

''I'm sorry Apple Jack. I shoulda looked but Sweetie Bell was wavin' me over. Can I go now?'' Her sister nodded and she pushed her sister towards her friends.

As she scampered off, Apple Jack turned to me. Her eyes shone bright and her smile was clear.

''Thanks again for helping Bloom. She tends to be a little head strong.'' She tossed her hat into the truck and began walking towards the school.

''Ya comin' Rainbow?'' Nodding, I follow Apple Jack into my new school and into a new life.
