Creeeeeek
The barn door immediately opened when I touched it. The light blinded me at first, but eventually died down. I peeked in to see if anyone or anything was in there, but it was dark in there.
Suddenly, a light sparked and dimmed the inside of the barn. I spotted a single, wooden chair in the center. I was interested on the chair, so I ran back to Uncle's house and shook Vanessa awake.
"What is it, Lauren?" she spat, rubbing her eyes.
"I found something really cool, C'mon!"
I dragged Vanessa out of bed and revealed the strange chair.
"A chair? That's what you were going to show me?!" she shrieked.
"Not just any chair. It's here for a reason. Do you mind sitting on it?"
"How about in the morning?"
"Please? It's only for a few seconds," I whined.
Vanessa thought over it and nodded her head. "Fine, just this once."
"Yay!"
"You're mighty glad for your friend just sitting on a chair."
We walked into the barn and Vanessa plopped onto the chair.
I waited for about five seconds before Vanessa asked, "How much longer?"
"I don't know, maybe five more seconds?" I guessed.
Five more seconds passed.
"That's it, nothing's happening," Vanessa said as she rose from the chair.
Then, the lights flickered rapidly, sending sparks flying everywhere until the barn was pitch black.
"Vanessa? Where are you?" I called, but there was no response.
The lights came back on again. I was facing the back of the barn, so I turned around to see if Vanessa was there. Surely, she was sitting on the chair, unmoving.
"Hey, Vanessa, are you okay?"
I slowly walked over to her, my voice shaking. No answer.
"Hey, what's up?" I asked, starting to get nervous.
Then, I saw why. Vanessa was on the wooden chair, mutilated.
