"Jessi! Please, hear me out!"
"No, Kane. I've had enough teasing in my lifetime. I don't need you to pity me." is my only reply. I hear him sigh.
"I didn't mean it. That you're nothing. I..." I glance behind me. He is rubbing the back to his neck. "Look, you are something. A big good something. That's why everyone else hates you. They're jealous. And I could never be like you. So... I just wanted you to know. And... nevermind." He sighs and turns to walk away.
"Wait." He stops; turns around.
"Look, I'm sorry for being...rude, of all things, to you. But I need you to just not talk to me. Just ignore me or something like that." I'm finished talking so I start to walk away.
"Why? It's like you want to be bullied or something. I don't understand." I sigh. I don't want him to understand.
"You're a nice person. Go have fun with your friends." I keep walking.
"But they're not my friends! I can't relate with them." He says walking behind me. "I want to be your friend. So let me, at least once." I sigh, but keep walking. Why does he still follow me? His friends are watching him, doesn't he care that they may hate him in the future? I open the door, walking outside. He still follows. Everything that has happened is unexpected. Unexpected is not what I'm used to. But maybe it will be. I turn to him, hesitating, giving myself another second to change my mind. Then, I start to speak, the impossible.
