Rose Hill

Short story

In Wyoming there is a small town named Rose Hill. In Rose Hill you may find little diners that have their "Usual" customers or little shop that sell anywhere from knickknacks to homemade cookies, but in Rose Hill you will find two normal teenagers. A seventeen year old girl named Shipley Evans and an eighteen year old boy named Benjy Stevens. They have known each other since they were kids."     "Benjy have you ever seen that sign before" Shipley says. "Honestly no   I have....." "Shipley do you see that "benjy says pointing to the old rusted gates.  "What is this place?" she says opening the gates. "looks like an old amusement park, what does that sign say ".benjy looks up and says "Rose hill park ". As they walk in they see what look to be a man maybe a couple years older than them. Shipley starts walking towards him when benjy pulls her behind an old rusted bumper carts sign. "YOU CANT JUST WALK TWARDS A COMPLETE STRANGER SHIPLEY "benjy says in a yelling whisper. "Sorry I just wanted to know If he needed help "she says. After they made sure the coast was clear Shipley says "let's go to that carousel over there". They start walking over to the carousel and they saw the control box was fried so they couldn't turn on the ride. "Let's climb on top to see how far the park goes "benjy says. They climb onto the carousel looking around, there is not much but a Ferris wheel and bumper cars and a couple roller coasters. All of a sudden the carousel turns on and they both fall off instantly "SHIPLEY?? SHIPLEY?? WHERE ARE YOU?? Benjy calls out in a low voice knowing the weird man must be close. Benjy walks around the carousel and sees Shipley on the ground with a piece of metal stuck in her thigh.  "Shipley we have to get out of...." They both turn around to see a man in a mask staring at them from afar .benjy picks up Shipley and runs towards the entrance with the killer picking up his pace behind. The gate is open so they get out only to find that the woods they once came from were vanished and the only thing left was a giant corn maze. Knowing he killer was behind them benjy picked up the pace and ran into the corn maze. Shipley tells benjy all the instructions and benjy does whatever she says. Benjy runs around the corner only to realize they are back at the gates where they started.  Benjy looks down at Shipley noticing she's bleeding a lot and says "I'm going to find somewhere we can make a plan, ok". "ok" she says. Benjy runs into the gates and finds the nearest bathroom and locks the door. He takes Shipley's bag and grabs an old shirt and rips it in half and ties it around her leg. "What's the game plan" Shipley says. "I have no idea "he says hesitantly. "Let's just break this mirror and use it to kill him ". After they make the whole game plan they go outside the bathroom back to the carousel and start yelling "HEY" "HEY" "HEYYYYYYYY". The killer comes out from behind an old building carrying a knife and charges for benjy.  Benjy stabs the killer as hard as he can and the killer falls to the ground. The killer is laying on the ground bleeding from him arm. Benjy walks to go hug Shipley as a knife goes through his stomach and kills him instantly. Shipley ran in shock of what just happened to her best friend.  She hides behind an old booth and wait for the killer to run by, when she hears him getting closer she pulls out her knife and stabs him when he walks by. Knowing he's dead she starts running to the gate and she sees a phone booth. Shipley dials 911 and ask for her dad to come to the old amusement park. When she sees all the lights in the distance she stands up. Her dad gets out of his cop car and says "WHAT HAPPENED "she tells him everything. When they go to see the bodies the killer is gone but benjy is still laying there dead. Shipley walks over to benjy and starts to cry only to wake up from the nightmare and realize it was all just a dream.
