Yukiteru, Yuno and Minene, the three main characters, names were based on the Roman Gods. Yukiteru's based off of Jupiter, Minene's based off of Minerva, and Yuno's based off of Juno. Those 3 gods are the highest Roman gods, and all those 3 characters became Gods, although Minene was half God.
