As Max and I walked out of the café, I remembered why we had met up here in the first place.
"Max?"
"Yes, Riley?"
I bit my lip. "Am I a good influence for your sister?"
He let out a chuckle and looked over at me. Although I wasn't completely looking at him, I could see a bright smile on his face.
"You're the best influence there is, Riley."
I blushed at that response, but hid it by looking at the ground passing by below us as we walked.
Once we made it back to my house, Max had walked me up to my doorstep, which I thought was sweet.
We'd said our goodbyes before he left, but he didn't leave without placing a gentle kiss on my cheek, which left me both flustered and at a complete loss of words.
