Sam’s coffee shop is one of my favorite places to go. I can take refuge in here without anyone I know bothering me. This place can ease my mind with just a whiff of the inside. You wouldn’t think much of it from the outside. The walls are cracked and the windows do not seem very clean from the outside but that is the point. Outer beauty cannot nearly measure up to what is truly beautiful on the inside. This place is a haven of its own.

The owner of Sam’s coffee shop is named Tony. The responsibility of the store was given to him after Sam had passed. Tons of people protested the closing of the shop. They couldn’t stand it to close, not just because they loved the place but also because they knew Sam did not want it to close. Tony decided to keep the shop open and use the empty space upstairs for his book shop.

The book store is empty except for a few people searching for books and sitting in the lounge chairs. “Hey Clarisse, have you finished the Old Man and the Sea already?”  Tony’s wife is a petite lady who is always seen wearing the brightest tribal clothing. Some people say she is obsessed with her Indian ancestry. People expect her to crack one day and start chanting ancient weather songs while jumping around an imaginative fire. I think she just really likes the stories of Indian tribes.

“Yes ma’am, I was just looking to find another one today.”

Louise turned away smiling. A little girl was at the counter asking many questions about a book she found, Louise looked amused. I’ve always loved Louise. She seems like a beautiful wife for Tony. He is a quiet man and she completes him with her bright and imaginative self. When they are together you can see the love they posses for each other. It illuminates their faces. You can almost see them disappear into each other’s eyes.  I have only witnessed that kind of love in books.
