chapter 1 (The Life Saver)

Youngjae covered his face with the black hoodie while walking slowly over the sea of people. The music was too loud for his liking. He can smell alcohol and cigarettes at the nightclub. The dance floor was full with people who danced senseless and it was obvious that people were drunk as hell, all over the place.

Youngjae lifted his face and feet up to look over his problematic mother as he couldn't see anything over the sea of people. He already searched for her at every club that he could find but he never found her anywhere. He just hoped that his mom was safe and sound.

While he was searching for his mom, he accidentally bumped into someone's chest. Panicking, he quickly turned around and bowed his head to apologise.

"I'm so sorry. I didn't mean to bump into you. Please forgive me." Youngjae said loudly because the loud music seemed to sink his soft voice. He wished that the guy wouldn't be furious at him because the last thing that he wanted was a new problem.

Once Youngjae lifted his head up, his heart was beating rapidly when his dark orbs locked with the brown ones.

The guy just smirked while glacing Youngjae from head to toes. Youngjae felt uncomfortable with the way he glaced at him. He just wanted to move away from here. Besides, his mom was his priority right at the moment.

Youngjae muttured 'sorry' and walked passing the guy. Before he can saunter away, the guy held his right arm tightly and turned him around.

"I'm Jaebum. Do you want to hang out with me tonight?" Jaebum asked Youngjae with a small smile appeared from his lips.

Youngjae was speechless for a second. He wanted to think clearly for a moment but the loud music didn't allowed him.

Youngjae also tried to considerate the offer. But, he just met Jaebum and he was not really trusting anyone that he just met. After giving a final thought, he responded firmly.

"I'm sorry. I can't."

Youngjae did not have any time to deal with this so he just shoved Jaebum's hand away and left.

Youngjae went out from the club before leaning his back against the club's wall. He was so exhausted looking for his mother. It was already midnight and he was out of energy.

He searched for her at every club in the town but nothing. His mom would always do something like this. When the loan sharks were looking for her, she would hide somewhere to save her life.

It was useless. Searching for her would going to be a difficult task to do. Youngjae decided to just go home and cleared his head a little bit before finding a solution for his problem.

Before he could storm away from the place, someone grabbed his hand harshly and slammed his small body against the wall. Youngjae yelped in pain but as soon as he found out who did that awful thing to him, he became frozen on his place.

"Hey kid! Did you think that you can escape from us?! I can smell a pathetic person like you from miles away. Where is your slutty mother?! You better tell me right now before I treat you like a punching bag!" A loud and rough voice echoed in Youngjae's ears. Two men surrounded him menacingly, not going to let him escaped anywhere.

Youngjae gulped hardly. He was so terrified to face these guys alone. He wanted to cry his heart out but he couldn't let them saw how weak he was.

"I don't know where is my mom right now." Youngjae answered softly while staring at the ground. There was no mistaken that he would be dead tonight.

One of the men that wore a black jacket grabbed his throat and slammed him against the cold wall heartlessly. Youngjae just closed his eyes tightly and tried to breathe properly when he the man was practically chocking him.

"Your mom is so fucking useless. She asked for money and now she just disappeared without paying it. How can we solve this shit, kid? I don't care what the fuck you need to do. I want my money to get paid tonight. Understand?!" The man yelled loudly at Youngjae while the other man with a red t-shirt grabbed his brown hair.

"Do you have money to pay it?"

The murderous gaze made Youngjae's blood ran cold. He was so fucked up.  All thanks to his mom.

"I..I.. don't have money." Youngjae mumbled softly while trying to escape from their harsh grip. He knew that there was no escaping from this. He will never be survived.

"You piece of trash!" Before the men can throw a punch to Youngjae, someone that came out of nowhere kicked both of them hardly until they fell to the cold ground. Youngjae that was free from them trying to catch his breath. He quickly took a quick glace to the guy who just saved his life.

It's him. It's Jaebum.

Jaebum glared at the two men that whimpered with pain on the ground. With the most cold voice, he asked them acrimoniously. "How much money that his mom had borrowed from you? I'll pay for everything."

The two men stared at each other for a second. Jaebum had offered to pay everything and it was the most great news that they had heard today.

"It's 20,000,000 won. Can you even pay for it?" The men smirked at Jaebum. If Jaebum couldn't pay it, they will definitely beat Jaebum all night, for making a shit with them.

"I can pay it. But, don't you ever disturb him again." Jaebum stared at Youngjae that stood against the wall.

"Fine. But, we want that money tonight."

"Thank you for sending me home." Youngjae uttered once they reached his home.

"It's okay, Youngjae." Jaebum answered while looking into Youngjae's dark orbs. He really had a fetish for his eyes.

Before Youngjae got out from the fancy car, he quickly voice out his thought.

"I'm really thankful when you were willing to help me earlier. You even spent 20,000,000 won to pay my mom's debt. I'm really sorry for that. It's there anything that I can do to return the favor?"

A cherry smile appeared from Jaebum's lips when he heard what Youngjae exclaimed. Well, he might lost 20,000,000 won but he got something more valuable than that.

Youngjae.

"Give me your number and meet me at my house tomorrow. Then, I'll tell you want you can do to return the favor."
