I woke up, groaning. The intense pounding in my head was bearable in the slightest. I thank the heavens that I closed the curtains last night because the sun would've blinded me for at least the rest of the day. I rubbed the sleep off of my eyes and searched my poorly lit room for my phone. I don't remember much from last night, and I'm beginning to thing something did happen last night when I saw two pills and a bottle of water on my night stand. There was also a note under the pills that I didn't read until I downed the water.
I slid myself to the side of my comfortable and pushed myself off in search of my phone. I shuffled my feet towards the skinny jeans that were thrown by the foot of the bed and sitting beside it was a new box of tampons.
Huh, so I did get Grace her tampons. What a good friend I am. I thought to myself.
Groaning, I squatted down and pulled my phone out of the back pocket. I didn't pay much attention to what I wore to bed until I saw all of the clothes I wore last night were on the floor. I slowly glanced down at myself. My eyes grew wide at the large blue t-shirt.
"What the fuck?" I said out loud. I lifted the shirt and saw that I still had underwear on. I ran a hand through my hair, throwing myself back on the bed. I turned my phone back on and looked through the notifications that I didn't bother to read. Text messages blew up my phone causing it to vibrate in my hand like crazy until it fell onto my face. I cried out in pain, clutching my face.
The sound of the door slamming open was too loud for my fragile state. "PIPER RILEY MEYERS! YOU NEVER GOT MY DAMN TAMPONS!" Grace came barging into the room in a deafening manner.
I cringed, covering my ears. "SHUT UP! I GOT YOUR DAMN TAMPONS!" I yelled, quickly crawling to the foot of the bed, grabbing the box, and wiping it at Grace blindly.
"Awww, you're such a sweet person," Grace started off to say. I quirked an eyebrow, waiting for the 'but' in the sentence. "If only I had them fourteen hours ago!"
"What do you mean fourteen hours ago?" I questioned, settling back under the warm blanket. I searched for my phone again while Grace sat down on my bed. I pressed the home button and looked up at the time. 1:05 PM. "I SLEPT FOR NINE HOURS?" I cringed at my own loud voice.
"Nine hours? Where were you last night?" Grace asked in her normal voice, noticing that I was hungover. "Did you go out drinking again, dumbass?"
"I believe so," I responded. I then remembered the note on the night stand and thought that it might shed some light into the situation. I turned and grabbed the little piece of paper while Grace shot up from her spot on the bed and walked up to the windows, opening the curtains. I hissed at the sudden brightness.
"Oh, suck it up, vampire," Grace joked as she laughed at my reaction.
I rolled my eyes at her and studied the note in my hand. The writing was pretty neat, but it doesn't seem like it came from a girl.
Don't freak out when you read this. I followed you home
to make sure you were safe. I assumed you were
drunk since you invited me in. I helped you into
bed and gave you some medicine for the hangover.
Oh, and don't worry about your car, I got it covered.
x Luke ;)
"Who the fuck is Luke?"
I jumped in surprised. Grace was literally over my shoulder, reading what this Luke wrote. "What the hell?" My hand touched her face and pushed her away from me. I probably stink. I crumpled the paper and blindly tossed it away while I got out of bed once again. "Does it look like I know?"
Grace 'oo'ed, giving me a knowing look. She wiggled her eyebrows at me while I walked into my bathroom. "One night stand, I see?"
I scoffed, turning the knob to the shower. "I doubted it." I stripped out of t-shirt and underwear then hopped into the shower. "Do you mind making breakfast?"
"Yeah, whatever." I heard Grace say over the falling water.
The refreshing coldness of the water definitely woke me up and dulled the headache. As I cleaned myself up, I thought hard about what happened last night, but from what I could recover was the events after I invited 'Luke' into my apartment. From what I remember, Luke was pretty tall and from the dim light, he was fairly handsome.
I stepped out of the shower after about thirty minutes in and looked at the blue shirt on the floor. It must've been his. I never seen that shirt in my closet before, so I assumed. I wonder why he would've done that though. I changed quickly into pair of black, ripped, high-waisted shorts and a sweetheart necklined, black top. I had a feeling Grace wasn't here to stay, she was planning to go out today.
As I let my wet, honey brown hair down, I smelt the sweet smell of maple honey bacon and eggs. I drifted out of my room after grabbing my phone and followed the smell into the kitchen. "Grace, that —"
"I'm not cooking," Grace spoke up.
I furrowed my eyebrows together as I quicken my steps into the kitchen. From the doorway of the kitchen I saw a blond towering over the stove.
