All In The Name Of Love

Prologue

With a deafening  scream Lu spung from her bed . Her heart thumped  like a large drum which which being stuck with some heavy sticks and sweat flowed down her entire  body.

She  had had another nightmare. Dragging her feet she made her way to bathroom , panting  she moved her hand through her ruffled jet black hair  and proceeded to remove her drenced tank top.
Gazing in the mirror on the right bathroom wall she examined her face ,her asian eyes and shoulder cut straight hair.
Memories began to pay an unwelcome visit to her. There in the mirror was her reflection that never failed to remind her of her brother.
Life itself was more difficult without him.  For one when you are asian in a place like this it's either you get accustom  to the name calling and great expectations of others to be flawless or you're screwed.

From a young age, family meant so much more to people of her culture who reside in other lands than the average person. As one member in the family held more than  one title. Your brother  was not just your brother or sister your sister.  That person  could damn as well be your  mentor, manager,best friend and guardian.  The worst however ,is when that member is lost to murder , cold brutal murder .When you lose that  person you  lose everything and what is more you have to stomach the fact that the murder will never be solved despite what the officials claim.

In the bathroom Lu's phone rang loudly . Lu let out a loud sigh and stood in the shower allowing the cold water to fall on her body. It was Monday  and she knew the amount of work that would be on her desk at Alexander's Law Firm.

The law firm was a small place with just over 8 lawyers including 2 senior partners , 2 associates and Lu who was the paralegal and also the receptionist. Life at the office was hectic rather brutal but like everything in life there were the few moments when there was just fun and laughter.Lu knew however that today was not one of those days as the firm was losing the few clients  it had because of a lawsuit that was filed to the firm claiming of malpractice . That though was just one of the illegal activities that occurred behind the doors at that firm.
Lu knew that very soon she had to find a new job as there was nothing promising where she currently worked. She needed to begin life as time was ticking and soon she will be just over 30 .
