~One Month Later ~

Oli,

I'm so sorry I haven't written.

I'm not going to leave you alone. I have found somewhere for you to go when you are released. Conor said he'd put you up. You have us fighting in your corner.

I know when your release date is. I will come to meet you. I'm so sad you have missed out on so much. I'm so sad you got in this mess, but it's almost over. You are almost free of it.
You must not write to me again. Joe found out and he went mad. Please don't contact me though this.

Please stay strong.

Your dearest friend,
Hannah x

I put the letter in an envelope and put it in my bag. No matter what Joe said, I wasn't going to leave him alone in this. If it was the other way around, Oli would no way leave me. He is scared. I'm scared for him. Five years is a long time.

I got up from my desk, making sure to pick up my bag and went out the door. I saw Joe in his studio just across the hall from mine.

"Babe," I said through the door. He took his headphones off and smiled. "I'm just nipping out. Do you need anything?"

"No thank you. Where are you going?" he quizzed.

"I'm just nipping into town. I need to pick up some new strings for my guitar." Lies. I was getting to good at it.

"Okay babe." he smiled as he got up to kiss me. "I'll see you later."

I went downstairs and headed towards the door grabbing my coat and car keys. I felt bad. I shouldn't be lying to Joe. He should be able to trust me. Guilt ripped though me like a knife.

I started the car for my phone to automatically connect to the stereo. Conor's new album came pumping out. I instantly hit the off button. It was like he was trying to make me think about him.

I stood at the post box with the letter in my hand. I took a deep breath and posted it. It was done. I had made a promise to Oli and I was going to keep it. No matter what Joe said.

I walked back towards my car when I passed Boots. Something told me to go back.

Sometime niggled in the back of my mind. Things didn't add up. I walked in and instantly went to the pharmacy section.

I went through the shelves with my eyes until I found what I was looking for. A pregnancy test.
