Debbie's POV-

I run towards the house letting the few leafs drop behind me. I smile as I run happy that I now know my peculiarly. I came to Miss Peregrines house a week ago because she could tell I was peculiar but I was not aware of my powers yet. Miss. Peregrine told me I would find it out soon but I started to believe I would never find out. As I run getting closer to the house I bump into something causing me to fall to the ground. I look up and don't see anything.

"Oh, I'm sorry Debbie." Someone says and I sigh noticing it was Millard.

"Sorry, Millard. I forgot you were invisible." I laugh as I start to stand up.

"It's nice to see you again Debbie," he says as I brush off the bottom of my dress. "I haven't seen you much since you got here considering you spend a lot of time with Emma."

"Yeah." I smile shaking my head. "She's my best friend, but it's nice to see you as well." Were quite for a few seconds before he starts to talk again.

"Why were you in such a rush?" He ask me causing me to smile remembering I found out my peculiarly.

"Watch this." I say and look over to where a leaf lays under a tree and make it hover above the ground.

"Wow, that's cool." Millard says and I can tell he's smiling from the sound of his voice.

"Yeah," I say letting out a sigh. "I was on my way to show Miss Peregrine when I bumped into you."

"Oh, well, don't let me get in your way." He says and I smile slightly confused that he wants me to go to her now and not stay with him.

"Oh, okay. Bye Millard." I say and start my way back to the house.

*later that day*

I sit at the dinner table next to Emma and Claire.

"So, did you guys see Debbie's peculiarly yet?" Millard ask from across the table and the kids shake their heads and start talking over lapping each other about how I showed them.

"It's so cool!" Olive smiled from two seats down from me. "She made one of Miss Peregrine books float up higher then me," she says using her hand to show about how high it when.

"She was messing with my clay men." Enoch mumbles from the other said of the table causing me to roll my eyes.

"Enoch, I told you I was sorry." I tell him and he looks away back down to his plate. After dinner I help clean up with Emma as the others go outside. Emma leaves to go talk with Jacob and I am left by myself as I walk out side.

"Hi, Debbie." Someone says behind me and I recognize it as Millard.

"Hey." I smile and I hear him sigh.

"Can I tell you something?" He ask and I shake my head.

"Sure, is something wrong?" I ask and feel him grab onto my wrist and pull me to the side of where the other kids play soccer.

"Well, I wanted to tell you this earlier today but got scared and decided not to." He tells me and I shake my head as he continues "I really like you Debbie, I mean, like like you. I know you have only been here for a week it's just, I feel different when I see you, not like when I look at Emma or any of the other girls."

"I like you a lot to, Millard." I smile and he sighs.

"Good, because that would have been highly embarrassing if you didn't like me back." He says and I laugh with him when I suddenly feel his lips on mine.

"Millard, did you just," I start before getting cut off.

"I'm sorry, if you didn't want me to." He says quietly and I smile looking down blushing.

"No, that's fine. I don't mind." I look up and back over at the other kids. "Come on, if we're talking to long they'll know somethings up." Millard shakes his head and we go over and join the other kids.
