''Killian? Oh, look at this. It's so cute.''

''Killian? They put him in a little sailor suit! You /have/ to see it!''

''Killian...''

Lifting his gaze up to look at his Swan, Killian cocked his eyebrow a little as if he had no idea what she was going to say. Of course, he /did/ know what this was about. She'd been showing him pictures of puppies for the next hour or so, trying to convince him they should get one. After all, they moved into their new home now - finally - and were starting to settle in. Since a few days, Emma had been looking at pictures of puppies and now she wouldn't shut up about it.

Even though Killian tried to keep a straight face while looking at all those pictures she showed him, he'd be lying if he said the idea of a pup running around wasn't tempting. He had almost lost his masculinity when Emma had showed him a picture of a puppy in a sailor suit, but he'd managed to keep acting cool.

Now, he was pretty sure he wouldn't be able to control himself much longer. Henry, Emma and Killian were on their way to the animal shelter, Killian having given in to Emma - and Henry's - pleading. ''Alright, fine, we'll have a look. But I'm making no promises!'' He'd told them, even though he was one hundred percent sure that if he held one of those pups, he would probably not be able to put it back down.

Taking a deep breath as they arrived at the shelter, Killian opened the door and walked in, followed by Emma and her son. He had to admit, it was very difficult to keep his composure when he could hear all the pups with their little barks, excited to see the three visitors. Now he knew for sure they wouldn't leave this place without at least one pup.

Walking around the shelter for a moment, Emma and Henry both pointing at pups and squealing in excitement, Killian found himself separated from them as his attention was pulled towards a small, black pup in one of the benches somewhat seperated from the rest. Crouching to his knees, Killian held his hand out towards the pup, smiling to himself as it started licking his hand. ''Look at you, aren't you lonely here all separated from the rest? Poor boy.''

Not knowing he was being watched, Killian jumped a bit as an employee of the shelter came up to him, asking if he wanted to hold the pup. Hesitating for a moment, Killian nodded, letting the woman open the bench. Taking the puppy into his arms, he smiled as the pup got really excited, licking at his face and wiggling its tail. Unable to keep his composure, he just randomly talked to the pup in a high-pitched voice he didn't even know he possessed.

It was quite funny how the tables had turned. Emma basically begged Killian to come here with her, but now he was quite sure he'd be the one begging if they could take this pup to their new home. ''I've never seen him so comfortable with someone before.'' The employee of the shelter said, making Killian feel emotional in all kinds of ways. The pup had seemed so lonely and sad, sitting there in a bench all alone, and somehow seeing Killian had made him excited and energetic. He just /had/ to take this pup home, he didn't have the heart to put it back. Besides, he'd already fallen in love with this little one.

''Emma? Henry?'' Killian called out to his love and her boy, the two running over to him as soon as they heard him. Putting his pride aside, he joined Emma and Henry in their enthusiasm, even reluctant to let go of the pup when Emma and Henry wanted to hold him. Watching Emma and Henry with the puppy warmed Killian's heart, and his decision to take the pup home was confirmed. There was simply no way he could say no to this. A moment later, Emma and Henry looked up at him with a hopeful glint in their eyes - as did the puppy, or at least that's what Killian believed -, and they didn't need to say the words, Killian knew exactly what they meant. Just as he knew exactly what to say.

''Let's take you home, Captain.''

A/N: Sorry for the inactivity! This idea just popped into my head and I had to write it down. I hope you enjoy this little piece of fluff. :)

I'll try to update my fanfiction 'You Could Just Say Thank You' soon as well. I feel bad for leaving it behind! I've got some ideas in mind, I just can't seem to find the words to write it down. Bit of a writers block, I suppose. But I'm working on it! Stay updated.
