Nia's Pov

Walking into school Monday it seems as if everyone was looking at me. When I got to my locker Staci and Nicole whom we call Nikki was there waiting on me.

"Hey ladies" I say goin into my locker.

"Heyy" they reply back.

"So Nicole where were you this weekend?" I asked closing my locker.

We had a few minutes before class started.

"Girl, I had to visit my aunt outta state.""Oh" I said nodding.

"Nicki you missed it. Dante had a party and..."

"Dammit!!!" Nicki said pouting.

Rolling her eyes Staci continued

"Yup and me and Joel got back together. He apologized and claimed she just gave him head."

Now it was me and Nikki's turn to roll our eyes.

"Really?? Omg again." Nikki sarcastically.

I just laughed because it was true.

"Bitch" Staci said pushing her.

Hearing me laugh she turned to me.

"And this one had a run in with Mr Dante himself."

"What!!!!!!!" Nicki shouted just as the bell rung.

Knowing that was my que to leave. I just walked away. For once I was happy that I didn't have class with them. Until after lunch. I definitely didn't want to know Ms. Info aka Staci and her little theory on what happened between me and Dante.

Walking into class once again it seemed like everybody was staring at me again. Like wtf it wasnt like I had new clothes on or a new style. Just a regular red tank top, navy blue skinny jeans with my red chuck Taylor's. With my wild wavy hair out nothing fancy. It wasn't like I was a nerd or anything but i wasn't Ms popular nore did I want to be.

So this was unusaul. In the middle of class I asked to go to the bathroom just to excape the weird stares and check my hair. 5 minutes later I was walking out the bathroom confident that my hair was fine and nothing was on my face. I bumped into Dante whom was grining for no reason.

"Nia" Dante said while nodding.

Weirdo I thought as I walked around him. No sooner than I walked around the corner I see Raven, Mariah's bestfriend. Now I know why Dante was so happy. Getting to class I was catching up in the lesson when Greg the boy who sits behind me tapped me.

"So Nia I seen how you get down. You wanna hook up?"

"Excuse me?"

"You know what they say if you can dance you good in bed. By the way you dance

I know you a freak." He said while looking me up and down and licking his crusty lips.

"Nigga what!?"

"I didnt know you had it in you Nia but wassup tho?"

"WHO THE FUCK DO YOU THINK YOU ARE?? COMIN AT ME LIKE THAT!!!!!!" I screamed

"Damn all you had to say was no." he said while holding the side of his face.

"Nia go to the office" the teacher said still in shock that I had smacked somebody in the middle of class.

In the office the secertary and the principal was both surprised that I was in there normally it was Staci. So I just got off with a warning. By the time I got out the office it was 3rd period. Walking into class it was the same thing with peole staring at me. To avoid more problems I just sat in the back at one of the open desk instead of my normal desk. I did this until lunch. By then news traveled around that I smacked Greg but nobody knew the real reason why. Deciding that it would ve better to eat lunch outside rather then in the cafeteria because it seems people were getting bolder each period. At first they were just staring at me. Then they started whispering about me. Now friends and complete strangers are coming up to say "they didnt know I had it in me." I guess me and Dante really gave em a show.

Waiting on my girls I began to eat. In mid chew Staci, Nicki, and Paige came up to me.

"Nia, I know you aint smack Greg over no damn pencil!" Staci yelled while sitting down.

"What?"

"Nia, I heard you smacked Greg cuz he touched your ya hair. Which is black girl code 1 on 1 but you got to much damn hair. Hell Ms Ross aint got nothing on you. And you like sitting right in the front. Shittttid I woulda moved that shit too." Nicki stated

Staci and Paige busted out laughing while I just rolled my eyes at her craziness.

"No" I said before taking a sip of my water

"Thats not the reason why I slapped Greg. He tried coming at me disrespectful talking bout if I can dance then I can have sex so i must be a freak by the way I was dancing with Dante."

"Whattted" they yelled.

"Yea"

"Girl I wulda smacked him too." Paige said agreeing with me.

"Speaking of dancing" Ms. info had to go and say while picking at her chicken salad.

"Ms. Nia ova here has some moves that she aint tell us about. Yall should of seen her and Dante. It was like they was playing some type of game. Everything he through at him he would catch and throw something right back. At the end when she walked away he caught her arm like he didnt want her to go. It was so cute." She said while gushing and staring off into her little dreamland.

"Whatever" I said before getting up and throwing my trash away.

"If e wanted me so bad why did I see him and Raven coming from the same janiters closet.

"Eww that sket has been everywhere with everybody." Paige said clearly discusted

"Yeah and so has he." I said walking away just as the bell rung.

The day ended with the same staring and "Oh my god I didnt know you had it in you!! For both me smacking Greg and dancing with Dante. As the week continued the stares and stuffed stopped and everything went back to normal. Staci and Joel was okay. That was until the fight.

"Whatever" I said before getting up and throwing my trash away.
