"Hey Der, what day is it?" Stiles looked at his husband who was reading the local newspaper at the table. "Thursday, why?" Stiles furrowed his eyebrows and nodded, as if deep in thought. "Thursday's family day..." Derek looked up from his paper, an alarmed expression on his face.
"Oh my god Stiles you're not going -"
Stiles grinned. "I'm going to cook, baby!"

"Guys! The pizza delivery is here!"
Derek, who just walked out of the livingroom raised his eyebrows. "I thought you said you were going to cook?" "I did..." Stiles started but his son cut him of: "He can't cook for shit dad. You know that," he said, rolling his eyes.
Stiles also rolled his eyes, although what his son said was very true - only last week he burned a microwave meal. "Watch your tone, young man!" Derek scolded the teen. Liam, who was in his rebellious teen-stage rolled his eyes - again. "Whatever. I'm not eating at home anyways."
Stiles frowned, "but Li, thursday's familynight?" It was more of a question than a statement, uncertainty evident in his tone. No-one ever skipped family night...
Liam, who seemed to read his dad's thoughts, shrugged. "Can't we just skip it for one night? I can be here tomorrow..." Stiles thought about it, Derek interrupted his thinking process by saying: "No, Liam! Of course not. Why are you only telling us now? Where are you going to eat? What are your plans?"
Liam huffed and turned around to face his father who was still standing in the door opening to the livingroom. "My plans are exactly that. My plans."
Derek raised an eyebrow and took a deep breath.
Oh no, Stiles thought, here we go again.
These last weeks, with Liam becoming more and more rebellious, fights weren't uncommon in the Hale-Stilinski household. Where Stiles was always a bit softer on his son, Derek was the bad cop in the room. He definitely was not amused by Liam's behaviour.
He took a step towards his son. He wasn't that much taller than Liam, but he sure made it look like he was twice the size of the kid. Arms crossed over his chest and both his eyebrows raised now he asked slowly: "Are you saying it's none of our business?"
He still gave Liam a chance to back out, to apologise and avoid a fight. But Liam never was good at controlling his temper when he was angry or annoyed. And he was both. Liam dugged his nails into the palm of his hands, blood dripping down onto the floor. "It is none. Of your. Business!" he growled, his eyes yellow. Stiles nearly choked on his own spit, fuck, he thought.
Derek was furious. He was a goddamn Alpha but it was his own son he never could control. His eyes shone bright red and Derek growled, a loud, terrifying growl that scared even Stiles. Taking a step backward Liam covered his ears, looking up at his father with blue, shiny eyes. Derek immediately took a step back too, he didn't mean to scare the boy, he really didn't. He never realised how scary he could look, even to his own family...Stiles stood up and walked towards his son, who was now standing a little helplessly in the middle of the room. "Hey... hey..," Stiles said softly. A tear escaped Liam's eyes, he was pretty upset by the whole ordeal. Sure, he knew it was kind of his fault but his father had never really gone all alpha on him before... Stiles didn't completely comprehend why Liam seemed so scared; his son and husband were both wolves, this behaviour wasn't uncommon. He wrapped his arm around the now sobbing boy nonetheless. Derek was stood in the doorway, he didn't know what to do. He'd made his 14-year-old son cry. Even though the boy had been rude, this was not wat Derek had wanted. He felt like breaking his own neck.
"Hey... he didn't mean to do that, shhh" Stiles tried to comfort Liam. He looked at his husband with big, hopeful eyes and gestured for him to come as well.
Derek hestitated before he took some steps forward. "Fuck, Li, I'm sorry, I'm so so sorry..." He couldn't stay angry at this kid for longer than 5 minutes. Because no matter how many years would pass, how tall he would get, Liam would always be his little boy he had to protect and care for. But that was why he valued family Thursdays so much...
Derek pulled Liam and Stiles into a big hug. His big arms were wrapped around the both of them and he felt content noting that Liam had stopped crying. Stiles smelled relieved and fond. The smell of fear lingered a bit on Liam, but also something else... sadness? No, insecurity, but there was another scent Derek couldn't place. Suddenly Liam spoke up.
"It's a date."
Aaah, Love.
Stiles looked at Liam, surprised. "Why didn't you just say so? That's amazing!" Derek didn't understand as well. "Yeah Li, we wouldn't have minded if you just said so." Both men looked questioningly at their son. They wouldn't forbid Liam from going on a date, on the contrary, Derek and Stiles were very excited to hear about this person who managed to sweep their grumpy son off his feet.
But Liam shook his head and freed himself from his dad's arms. "I-I.." he stuttered . "What is it, Liam?" Stiles was curious as to why his son was acting so weird.
"I don't know if you'll like... this person... We have a past..." He was shifting on his feet now, his hands fumbling and ruining the underside of his shirt. Liam knew for sure his parents would have a fit if they found out who his date was. After all, it had been his nemesis for many years. Actually the person to make him transfer schools. No, his parents would definitely not like this person. Especially Stiles.
Derek raised his eyebrows but remained silent, scared to upset the boy. Stiles asked instead: "Why, who is it? Do we know her? What's her name?"
Liam took a deep breath.
"His name is Brett."
