"Welcome to Berry Special. How can I help you, cutie?"
She blushed, not sure whether to be flattered or creeped out. Here was a random stranger—a very handsome random stranger—calling her cute.
That's a first.
In all of the time shed been coming here, never had she been called cute...
After a moment, she realized that she had been staring at this stranger for a solid minute. In her defense, he wasn't too bad on the eyes. And the smirk on his face certainly didn't help.
"Enjoying the view?"
She blushed again. But this time, she wasn't going to zone out. She wasn't going to—
Damn. How can one human possibly embody that much perfection?
"Guess that's a yes then," he chuckled, shaking her back to life.
Shit.
"I'll have a small mango blast," she handed him a ten dollar bill, "Keep the change."
As she scurried away to find a table, he stood there half in-shock, wondering what the hell just happened. Deciding that thinking it over too much wouldn't help, he shook his head and laughed, turning to the back counter to give Rob her order.
He was about to read off the receipt when Rob whistled lowly.
"Damn," he stared after the girl, who was now sitting in a corner booth by herself, reading a book.
Once Rob came out of his daze, he was met by a pair of glaring eyes.
"Don't even think about it, man. She's way too good for you."
And with that, he walked back to the register, ready to take the next customer's order. But, he couldn't help but hope that she would still be sitting there when his shift ended.
