"Euk" I mumbled as the muck ruined my hunting boots'. "must.... keep...... moving." I huffed as i saw the end of the muck, the sooner i get through the muck the closer i get to my canopy of trees.

"AHHH!" bellowed Sals, my friend and colleague. "Help, I tripped!"                                                                      "Shut up man." I remarked in hushed tone as i bent over to help him up.                                                         "there they are, up there! dont you see them Cyli?" yelled our persures, Janie and Cyli ( unless you count Cyli's raccon-hound munc).                                                                                                                              "oh, they found us great." Sals said in a hardened tone that tickled my ear drums.                                          "If only you hadn't fallen down."as my wispy laugh, bursted out (luckily it wasn't that loud) and finaly was able to pull him up and start moving again.

As soon as me and Sals made it to the regular ground we broke out in the quickest paced sprint we have ever ran, it would only keep us from dying sooner.

I love the feelind of the mossy forest floor under my feet, even though my boots are on i started slowing down to unlace and take off my boots.

"WHAT ON EARTH ARE YOU DOING!" Sals cried from a few feet in front of me, no dout giving away our where abouts.                                                                                                                                                    "Just slowing down to conserve energy." I lied strait out to him, I'm so used to it i dont even feel the pang of guilt.                                                                                                                                                              "Mace, did you forget our tiny little problem about this, i sure have, now MOVE!" he yelled in the under tones of his already soughed voice. Even though he's five years older than me he still thinks I'm oh so much younger than him.                                                                                                                        "Fine chief, what to do now?"                                                                                                                                 "swerve around and try to lead them off our track and setteling if it gets to far out of hand we'll need to leave again." he said in a steady yet unsure voice, How could he be so mature when he's only seven-teen?

When we finally lost them and got to the canopy it was nearing to morning and hardly had a bit to eat."Sals, we need food and rest, lets sleep until late tomorrow and the gather more supplies when we wake up, we are able to see during the night unless it's foggy, and it isn't rainy season so-" I was cut off by Sals finger. "sounds like a good idea to me Masel. now get up there before i climb before you and i know how it bugges you."                                                                                                          "don't even go there" i smiled as i pronounced the words i knew then so well, they fit my mouth like a glove. I scaled the forty foot climb in less than five minutes. I knew exactly where to put my feet in the pockets that the trees bark created, I couldn't even imagine moving across the forest again. We have only been here for ten months but it seems so much longer.

Once we got settled we just talked until we dozed off and fell a sleep."Goodnight Sals." i Barely mumbled and then fell out of the hammock.
