You shut the door quietly and pad silently inside. Leaving your keys and your jacket at the kitchen counter, you remove your shoes and place them at the rack before entering our bedroom. You hear our favorite song on repeat, knowing that I listen to it whenever I miss you. You find me sleeping on your side of the bed, hugging your pillow tight and breathing in your scent that lingers on. As you look at my sleeping form, a pang of guilt shoots your chest and you sit down on the floor beside the bed and just look at my face. You hate it when I fall asleep without you by my side. In the moonlight, you see the face of the girl that has loved you for so long with all of her heart. You see the crinkles in her eyes that remind you of freshly ironed laundry and warm fuzzy feelings. You see her half opened mouth that brings you great joy every time she kisses you; the mouth that makes you fall down on your knees with a groan every time she worships your body with it. You see her and everything about her that makes you fall in love with her so much to the point of pain. You see me.
Brushing a strand of my hair from my face, you stand up and take off your shirt and pants. Before leaving for the bathroom, you kiss my forehead. You clean yourself fast and thoroughly, sighing when you feel how tired you've become recently. Rubbing off with a towel, you put your boxers on and turn off the bathroom light. Raising the comforter, you get on my side of the bed and lie down beside me. Your arms then wrap around me, drawing me close. You breathe in my hair and your arms grip even tighter. You've missed me. You want to make love to me right now but being able to hold me in your arms is more than enough. You know all too well how much I needed to sleep, we both need it, so you bury your face in my neck and just relax. You are surprised when I suddenly shift and face you, wrapping my arms around your torso and hugging you as well. You smile when I blindly sought out your mouth with my own but ended up kissing your nose instead. I settled down but not before putting a leg over your waist to feel more comfortable. You didn't mind and closed your eyes. Being able to be this close to me was enough. We could live a thousand life times like this and you won't ever get bored, you thought. The girl was with you and that's all that you will ever need. Our favorite song was still playing softly in the background and one of your pillows fell on the floor when I kicked it, but you didn't mind. You were home.
