"Idk.. My mom said that this is where the money and the good jobs are at."

"I know.. I'll come visit you sometimes if I can.. But I'll talk to you later Love Bug.. I gotta go. Muah! Love you!"

Marîland always talks to her "Day 1 Shawty". Her name is Atlantis.

After I hang up my phone and put it on the charger, I go in the bathroom and take a long, hot, shower. I would go look at high schools buuuut it's Saturday, and I just got here. Once I get out the shower, I look in my suitcase and look for an outfit. I pick out my grey loose-fitting sweater, my acid wash high-waisted jeans, and my grey army fatigue Converse sneakers. I let my hair out, and it's all curly from the shower I took. So then I grabbed my wallet and phone and I walked out the door.

I'm walking to the mall, and I see this tall, light-skinned, Puerto Rican looking boul. He's fine as s---. I'm not trynna holla tho.. I had enough troubles in my life. In plus, I don't make the first move.

"How you doing beautiful?"

"Fine!"

"Woah! What did I do? I'm just trynna be nice."

"I know.. My bad. I just..... Nothing, neva mind."

"Nah ma. I know we don't know each other buuuuut what's on ya mind?"

"It's nothing I gotta go."
